In science I learned about non Newtonian fluids. You can basically create this with corn starch and water. It will react in a way which makes it a liquid like substance until pressure is added. Then it becomes a stiff like solid. It is strange but fun to play and look at.

Mercury is FAR too heavy to be a lube. Most of it would just fall through the gaps in the cube on to the floor

I personally like these lubes, but command feels very similar to silicone lube and fleet is just annoying because it's ridiculously hard to control when applying and will stain stuff. Overall, they're nice but I like my mystic, compound X, dnm, silk, and lubicle black more

I definitely agree, Command feels a lot like a heavy silicone lube like Weight 5 but slightly faster, and Fleet is kind of funky. It does what it says, but something always dries out in the dispensing tip and it's hard to squeeze out without a lot of it coming out.

Yes. Not related, but the QiYi 1x2x3 Just came out. It's my #1 most wanted puzzle, just because it's pocketable, is quick to solve, but isn't as easy as a 1x2x2 Also nice videos, keep it up.

I would say just buy the lubes and set it up.. plus you can use them for any other cube u want too. It isn't that difficult really.

If budget isn't a variable, I would definitely recommend the GAN XS. It's because even if you dislike it out of the box, it has so much customization that I can almost guarantee you will find the setting that fits your style. It is also the lightest flagship puzzle by a longshot, making it easier to hold for long periods of time. If budget is an issue, I would recommend the wuwei, as it is 15 dollars, magnetic, and able to hold up against better cubes.
