The services he uses for podcasts and the ufc pay him large sums of money over time. So he might get paid 200k for his commentary work at the UFC. So he makes a million easy from the UFC, just not at one time but over the course of a year. He doesn't get 1 huge check, just multiple decent sized checks. When it comes to Spotify and these other companies he gets checks for, it's the same logic. He doesn't get paid 1 million per episode, he might get paid a couple hundred grand per episode. When he got the 100 million dollar deal that's 100 million dollars over the course of several years and they don't just sent it all out. It's given to him incrementally.

Why is it so hard for Joe to understand the longstanding issue with ADCC underpaying athletes? Keeps talking about how they don't turn a profit . . . bro it's the royal family of Abu Dhabi. Money is nothing to them and yet they still only pay $10k for first place.

Also, it depends what you mean by ‘profit’. Trillionaires don’t mean the same thing as the rest of the world. What Joe isn't getting is that "production costs" includes paying all the staff. It doesn't make sense to need to make a profit to pay the athletes more money when they are literally the most important part of the whole production. I.E. the fighters wages should also be the first part determined of the production cost.
