I've been thinking this for a little while now. Few months ago "pursuit of happiness" popped up in my radar and I remembered this episode. I also remember that short lived series "How to Make it in America" on HBO... was a good series but died aftter 2 seasons.

@@farquad349 I smoked every day for just a couple years in university. For a while, it was a large motivator for me to get everything I could done so I could genuinely be relaxed once I did smoke at night. Eventually, it got in the way. @@farquad349 It affects people in vastly different ways. When I get stoned I feel tired and dumb for half the next day, and I can feel less motivated and less positive for up to 3 days after depending on how much I smoked. I also get cravings for weed for a few days after smoking atleast 3 days in a row. On the other hand, my buddy smokes almost every day, and he went on vacation with his family for 1 week without weed and he didn't even smoke for a week when he got back because he couldn't bother to take the bus 30 mins to get some. If I smoked as much as him I would probably walk for an hour just for some weed if I went a week without. He can smoke so much without any side effects which I can't. Don't listen to others, experiment with yourself and analyze your own feelings and try to stay honest with yourself. The "but I got everything I needed to do done" doesn't really apply for everyone

Wow man. I really relate to Cudi on this... the whole explanation of "the trifecta" or process he had is dead on. That's what sucks about being a recluse... when you get high, it's really the only time you feel outgoing ALL the time. It numbs you and you get a lot of shit done. The only problem is you destroy all of your relationships in the process and end up alone, depressed and addicted to drugs. I went through this in my 20s experimenting to find a drug to do. After a while you start to feel guilty because, while you can take a pill or do a drug that makes you on top of your game, you are technically cheating, and destroying your body in the process. Don't do drugs to get by! Wake up early everyday, set a schedule and establish discipline. There are no shortcuts to success and Joe Rogan is one of those people that keeps my motivation high

Great to put the message out! I did speed for school and ended up exactly described, alone and felt so guilty. Welp I got through school which would have been next to impossible exactly cause I wasnt raised with discipline. Now have been clean for a year and have "detoxed" with martial arts, in specific grappling and muathai, I can tell aswell that without it I would be still doing it. ps. Nobody knows about this except you reading this, if you are struggling the same way all I can say stay strong and look for a purpose from hobbies and cling to them like your life depends on them. Get on suboxone, its much less sinister. Methadone still gets you high & is like a 30 day kick bro, I'm glad you're off dope but reconsider a suboxone clinic instead. Its a lot easier to get off of when you're ready.. stay clean my friend.

Correct, Alex. Methadone is better than turning to crime to fund a heroin addiction but Suboxone & Subutex (Suboxone without the blocker, which means it has higher potential for abuse) are MUCH safer and easier to get off of. It's not much more expensive than Methadone, you can find a Doc here - www.suboxone.com/treatment-plan/find-a-doctor

This is why I love Kid cudi. I’ve suffered from depression and anxiety for years. I lost my mom at a very young age and she was my best friend at the time.. suffering a big loss at a young age is hard for anyone.. I was in a hole for such a long time, I got to high school and it sucked cuz I didn’t have my mom to talk to. I just wasn’t in a good spot durning my high school years, kid cudi has always been a huge inspiration to me. He’s a true legend and he truly cares about many many people on this earth. He’s a positive person because he’s been at the bottom, been at the lowest point. I feel very very thankful to have him and his music durning hard times. I’m very happy with life right now, I’m working on a tv series and co writing it. I’m very thankful to be alive and have the life I have. Just wanted to sure some stuff, no matter what you’re doing in life just know that you can always change, you can always be the person you dream of. No one can tell you who to be and who not to be. Be you and the real you. Life is such a bigger thing than we you think it is. Much love and I wish you all the best.

I’m not going to lie I suffer from Porn Addiction. Today I Relapsed after 2 and half months of no porn. After finishing watching porn again, it left me feeling relaxed and IMMEDIATELY felt guilty and terrible, a failure, and thought that my life is going to fall apart. But it’s only gonna fall apart if you give up on yourself and let it happened. The point is even if you relapsed after a long time of not caving to your urges or addiction. It should be looked at as opportunity to give you retrospect as to how your life was without that addiction in your life and what are the benefits since giving up on your addiction. Don’t think your life is over or that you can never get better if you relapsed. Start your recovery again and keep trying to fight these urges and get better. Have aa support system, seek some help and stay positive and motivated to get better. It Doesn’t make you weak for you trying to turn your life around to get better.

GET CUDI BACK ON! The man has a good pace and way about him and he's genuine. Forget drama and fake people. No matter what people do they should always be called by their name and not a label. Who are you to feel you have the power to forgive someone for what they do to their body. I feel this guy. What a damn boss

So insane how many similarities there are in the experiences of addicts, regardless of the substance of abuse. I was a pretty heavy alcoholic for roughly 6 years and I can still relate to quite a bit of what he's saying.

Thanks for sharing, Kid. The ole stimulant-alcohol-pot combo is wild. In the end though you realize you're doing all that shit just to feel like you would, when they all work as intended, completely sober.
