Great looking bike. I've always been a big fan of the PCX. My brother In-law has one the same color but an older model. My bike has the same kind of ignition locking mechanism. I've always thought it was a good design addition to a bike's security. Nice supplement with the windshield. Interesting touch with the Idle stopping system. I've never seen that before. I'm not surprised these are Europe's most popular bike . Good video, and as you said a rare thing for uk spec. Just one observation, the 2018 model does not have combined brakes. You have ABS hydraulic disc on the front, and a cable operated drum on the back. This was the Euro 4 upgrade, I’ve had mine for just over a year, it has been superb

At first I also understood that the PCX 125 has the combined brakes with 1 piston at the Front controled by the rear brake lever. But check it out. It must be the PCX 150 that is not sold in Europe and that has other fine features like keyless go.

NEIL BARNES ABS is a good thing though. You may want to check the front wheel for it. If it reads ABS that means it is there. I ride yamaha 125 Nmax, it has ABS which saved me once from fender bender on a slippy road, I used to ride in winter too but at the temperatures we get here in Poland about 0 C or less the tires stop doing a good job and when rain or snow falls there may be a disaster. Best Regards . WP

Thanks for the no nonsense thorough no frills review, was looking at one last year, however opted for the sh125i. Probably more under seat storage in the pcx, although the sh is a bit pricier it had top box screen dual abs and key less system. Forza is the bees knees, but very pricey for a 125.

Hey, thank you for uploading these videos, they’re very informative. Would you be able tell me your average annual insurance costs with the CBT? I know this is very specific to the individual but it would be nice to know. I keep getting silly quotes that are more than my car.
@jrewillis2 жыл бұрын
I paid more than my car insurance as I had 0 NCB on a bike. First year PCX was £650 fully comp (37, homeowner,married with kids) For context I’ve now got 2 years NCB and a full license (held for a year) and a 650cc bike with 90bhp is costing me £220 a year to insure. So it does drop quickly. My second year on CBT came down to about £580. So it was slightly cheaper but not by much. Until you have a license you are still high risk being on a provisional. Prices reflect that.
@Korhil22 жыл бұрын
@@jrewillis okay, thanks for the information. It looks like I was being quoted a reasonable amount in the end (£470-680). A full bike license would make it cheaper in the long run 👍

@jrewillis3 жыл бұрын
Brakes shouldn’t need any real adjustment. If there is too much play in the handle there is likely air in the system or a leak. If they are spongy then it’s likely air in the system. Your fluid level being low is an indicator of worn pads.

Good video mate!! Just bought a new PCX 150 CBS in Indonesia... Can i ask you something?? PCX 125 non ABS still available in your country? Greetings from PCX Nation Indonesia.. 😊🇮🇩
@jrewillis4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. In answer to your question in the UK we only have the ABS version. In Europe you must have either ABS or CBS for euro 4 standards to be met (same for daytime running lights) - I must say the brakes on the PCX are excellent. Thanks for commenting. Ride safe!
@MM-oq5bl4 жыл бұрын
the PCX is an attractive machine, I have the 125 SuperCub and I am tempted to trade in for a PCX, the SuperCub however returns 190 mpg on long country road touring runs in the 40 to 45 mph speed range, your PCX returned 135 mpg in commuting, how many extra mpg if you are country road touring in the 40 to 45 mph range on the PCX? Wil it match or be close to the mpg of the SuperCub?
@jrewillis4 жыл бұрын
It returns a steady 140-145mpg on longer runs. But it'll achieve a minimum of 110mpg even if you ride it flat out constantly. 190mpg is amazing! It must be lighter than the PCX!
@jrewillis4 жыл бұрын
But in the grand scheme of things. 140 Vs 190mpg isn't going to cost much even over the lifetime of the machine. I can do 230-250 miles on £8 of fuel.... That's pretty good. Especially in comparison to a car...
@wiktorpiechota23275 жыл бұрын
I ride a yamaha n max 125 ccm. It is a good bike. I am thinking of switching to honda pcx for its larger front tire and a bigger tank 8.0 l vs 6.6 in Yamaha. I agree both bikes can be used in city or on longer routes if someone doesn't mind the crusing speed of 80-95 km/h . I have covered large areas of Poland on Yamaha, 43000km in two years.
