We grew up at this time but without all the luxury conveniences. Had to walk through ten feet of shag carpet to change the TV channel by hand.

For all those folk who jump on the nostalgia bandwagon and long for simpler days - ask yourselves what makes life so seeming complicated today. Your mobile phone is not an umbilical cord. You do not need to feel that you are on permanent call for everyone in your address book. It doesn't matter how many like or even look at your social media posts. It doesn't matter even that you make them. Television - a million channels, but you can only watch one programme at any time. News - stay informed, but not saturated, take time to think. Bored? Good, it means you're allowing yourself space - now fill it with your imagination.. Things are much better now - medicine for starters, and that has a huge impact on people's lives world-wide. So, for those yearning for their youth times - consider how much your own habits create the very conditions you want to be free of. There are many things better now. What is making today worse for you?

I ised to have a "bookcase" headboard like this and a radio that I listened to very similar to the one where the young boy is coming home around 3:08 I miss the colors.

We still have one. It's one my dad made (we lost him in October of '21) when he was a teenager growing up here in the Ozarks (redneck country), in 1951. Not much to look at, to be sure, but it's definitely functional.
