These were the times when a lot of stuff was changed in a short period of time. In May of 1990, HTV (then still called Televizija Zagreb) got satellite transmission set up. A month later, they stepped out of the JRT system and got renamed to HTV by the Croatian Parliament, as they proclaimed independence of Croatia. This is real rare stuff

rare on satellite, but not really rare (daily on analog terrestrial). it's "Jugoslavenska Radiotelevizija" (singular) nad "Hrvatska Televizija", only later it was renamed to Hrvatska Radio Televizija, which is kinda silly because tv and radio are separated. hr (hrvatski radio) makes sense, htv too(that doesn't exist anymore), hrt doesn't, esp. when it denotes tv channels. hrt1 today means 1st national tv channel. chroma noise is interesting, was just reading how fm modulation has that problem esp. on lower signal levels. and then i remembered all that noise in coloured areas of weak signals....gosh, that's a lot of nasty noise, even worse than vhs. something to think about....i probably have a lot of it recorded on vhs....

no, it's hrt1,hrt2,hrt3 ,hrt4 for tv channels on dvb-t. i guess they just copied rai. but they didn't copy it when it comes to picture quality, it's going south quickly these days, looks almost like vhs....they're airing something that looks like analog copy deterioration plus digital overcompression on most reruns....mhm....

When I saw their cameras a few years ago, they were recording onto Betamax. The channels should be called HRT1 and so on, but are sometimes called HTV1 (for example, on their online TV schedule and on teletext)
