Don't be stupid. I'm on a limited budget, but I can pay for myself, plus a generous tip. I don't expect anybody to foot the bill for me, and I don't want to pay for anyone else, unless it's a special gift or treat from me to them, or equally sharing with everyone else for the honoree. . For example, it's Susie's birthday. Her dinner is %60. There are 10 of us there. We each pay $6 each plus $4 for the tip ((total of $10 each) which pays for her $60 dinner and a nice $40 tip for her meal. The rest of us pay our own bill and tip. It's simple math, and if you can't figure it out in your little pea sized brain, use a calculator. Why should I stay at home?

That's the cost of a cheap wedding. That's up to two years of junior college. That's a BBL, depending on where you get it. That's a year worth of lace front wigs assuming 6 weeks of wear and high quality wigs with $150 install. I could fix my teeth with $4,200, my lasik cost less than that. There was another friend that was ticked off with this being done again and refused to pay and the other party paid. Well I personally feel this was planned from the jump. Pay attention to what he said, when he arrived everyone was already there. I have this sinking feeling everyone discussed this guy paying and I believe his homegirl was in on it. Why else would the b-day girl keep looking down at their end of the table? Not only that, his homegirl wasn't even willing to put the orders on her card. So yeah, they all conspired to have this man pay for the meal and very likely had zero intentions of paying him back.

I learned a lesson about being invited to a dinner bday party.back story, I was dating a women for about 2.5 x 3 months and it was her birthday. Already a difficult situation on gift giving, but her daughter invited us out to an expensive seafood restaurant on the water for her birthday dinner. The daughter stated she was paying and it was her gift to her mother, since the daughter had just started a new job as an RN and was making money. When we got there I saw there were 10 people in the dinner party. I already made my mind up that I would pay for mine and my GF dinner to ease the cost from the daughter. Well, what I didn’t take in to account was her son who was to put it bluntly a selfish over indulging brat (19 years old). He order multiple appetizers, 2 main courses including one which was a large lobster, 2 deserts and even another one to go! His GF ordered just a main course and a water. All the while my GF was laughing saying about how her ‘Boy’ can eat! I was disgusted but hey it’s not my kid. Well, when the bill came I saw the shock in the daughters eyes. The bill was over $1,800! I could see the tears in her eyes as she had no where near that amount of money or available credit. Oh course, I grab the bill, show it to my GF who was also shocked. But I learned something that night. No one in this family reached into their pockets to help out. I felt so bad seeing the daughter in tears but trying to put on a brave face that I gave $500 towards the bill. After the dinner, he daughter was so thankful and even offered to pay me back. My now Ex -GF? She only talked about how good the food was. On the car ride home I told her how much I gave, her response? That I should have helped put her young hard working daughter and why didn’t I pay more? I learned a big lesson that night. Never again go it to a bday dinner at a restaurant with a group of people.

I had a similar experience where the date of the birthday girl turned to me (I was dating the birthday girls best friend) an asked if we’re gonna split the bill evenly. I told him nope that I was just paying for me and my woman’s meal. And this is why I don’t do any birthday dinners. People order all kinds of expensive meals and drinks and think that the bill is going to be split evenly even when you had a modest meal.

After a certain age, you cannot hang-out with people who are constantly broke, always feign 'low cash flow,' and/or perennially have bad credit. That's why I limit my outings to no more than four in a party and never include those whom I don't personally know. Even more concerning were those extravagant orders (w/o funds to match), as though they've never been to a high calibre or fine dining establishment.
@jgibson80926 ай бұрын

Absoluetly yes to the constantly broke. Those types of people shouldn't be going out all the time anyways. Yet they are also probably the same people eating out and eating fast food all week long claiming "I don't have time to cook etc..." The bad credit thing....eh....people can have bad or low credit and still be good. One doesn't mean the other. There could be all kinds 9f reasons for a low credit score. All it takes is being stupid when ypu were young or one bad mistake to sink that. I don't judge a persons character solely off credit score. Doesn't make sense. Do3snt mean I'd marry them.....but I wouldn't call them bad people either.

Happened to my cousin. We went out for his mom's birthday, and it was like 25 people. When the bill came it was like $1,100 and he put it on his card and everybody was suppsoed to pay him back. Me and my brothers all paid him right there and I even gave him an extra $50 when I saw him upset that people weren't sending him money then $20 in cash for the tip. The problem was there were his mom's 4 adopted teenage daughters, 3 of their friends, and his dad who all came with no money. They all have jobs but didn't bring any money. Plus there were some extras friends we haven't seen in years and their girlfriends. This was a year ago and to this day there's still like 10-12 people who owe him money. I know he will never do no shit like that again and I don't blame him.

I'm an older woman on a fixed income. When I go out with friends, I stop at the ATM for cash. Then however the check is divided up, I pay for my own food, including at least 20% tip. If it's a larger party, I increase the tip. One time I found out my tip was the only tip for the entire bill. This made me sad, angry and embarrassed. In a nice way I told everyone how I do things, stating there is no excuse for stiffing the waitperson. Some people don't ask me out anymore--fine with me--I don't care to associate with low class people. The folks I go out with now are all honest righteous people. If a generous person offers to pay for everyone, I say THANK YOU, and hand the waitperson an extra cash tip, in appreciation.
