IT WORKED! Man, I was trying to import animations for almost a week now, they were taking so long it kept crashing UE, and wouldn't let me save them...I use Iclone 8 to UE 5. Thank you!

Thanks a lot! I was worried I'd have to re-rig my character when 3 simple 60 frame animations put my weak CPU on it's knees. With this the import process was much faster and actually finished. o.O

Another awesome tip:) I guess this goes faster because Unreal imports less 'original' frames and interpolates between them internally. That's why in the end you have all your keyframes back. If you would compare them to the original ones there will be a little difference probably.

I've been doing something similar. I go from axis neuron as bvh. I then use bvhacker to down sample. It reduces a 100mb file to just a couple megs . Then I just convert that downsampled bvh to fbx before bringing it into ue. Looks like you found a way to do pretty much the same thing but with less steps. Thanks!

Always use 60fps importing fbx from iclone, works great. Got my motion capture suit yesterday, gonna have some fun today :-)

Awesome video! Apparently the same issue exists in UE 5 and UE cannot figure out the best custom rate -_- ... setting it to 30 made importing animations a breeze for my project.

This is not unreal This is something about your computer. I use the exact same system in only takes a few seconds to import.

@@Jsfilmz So I just realised that the sample rate is the framerate set for you animation. so if you leave it at default UE will have to figure each frame rate out per animation hence why it takes too long so if you know what you animation frame rate is set the sample rate to the frame rate of said animation

Unity is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY worse when it comes to importing and exporting animations. It's one of the reasons we switched over from Unity to Unreal.
