Absolutely. I personally think the only reason for people buying a smartwatch is one, It's a new Apple product, 2 its an APPLE product, 3 Reputation/Status. That's about it. Like I said... my opinion of reading the terrain.

I'm putting together my review of the apple watch series 5, and I totally agree - as a relatively new father myself who has a busy full time job, not missing notifications has become so much more important and the apple watch does an outstanding job of ensuring nothing slips through the cracks! Thanks for sharing!

I love mine- had for nearly 2 years already and still looks and works great. Use daily for workouts (tracking, playing music etc without my phone), responding to texts while on the go (driving), being a always-ready remote for Apple TV, and more. Do you HAVE to have it? Well, no, but you don’t have to have many things. But it IS great to have.

An Apple Watch will be worth for a year or so until a new edition replaces it ,make it looks outdated ,even if is 100% functional at that date...and so on , In the other hand,a classical timepiece like an omega ,Breitling,Rolex ,etc. Will be worth for a full life. Simple as that.

Great video as usual J. While I did not on an Apple Watch. I have owned Samsung's latest smartwatch. It was $300 and it did a lot of the things that the Apple watch does some things different some things the same. I did like it a lot but I will admit it is an extension of the phone. I do like the ability to change the watch face too a more formal look and then switch back to a fun digital face

Maps, Notification, Calendar & Maps are legit. Taptic feedback on Maps is a nice additional feature. Microphones are the best, hands down. I use them for responding to text messages with ease. Also, I use the speaker phone function a lot, people can't tell I am on my watch because of quality and clarity. Truthfully, I prefer a round design, wishing the WatchOS was on some of the really good looking devices made by the competition. Apple Care is a nice add-on. It's hard to argue for the price and ease of use. Other smartwatches and traditional smartwatches can't compete. Real estate will always be a negative for any smartwatch, it's just not feasible for moderate web content, reading or viewing. Although the battery is solid for a day or two, it's a hassle having to carry yet another charging cable when traveling. Hopefully, Apple in the near future will offer an universal charging solution for all their mobile products. Overall, it's one of my favorite watches and a welcomed additional timepiece in my collection.

Thanks for the comment! I actually tried using maps the other day and it was pretty nice, having the turn by turn directions on my wrist. The speaker phone is indeed good, and I've taken a few calls on the watch, which was kind of weird at first, but really cool after the fact lol

I’ll start off by saying most people consider me a tech, and also a watch enthusiast. So when I heard there was a new product called the Apple Watch, I jumped on it. Even now, I own the Series 5 in stainless steel. But for some reason, I always end up going back to my traditional watches. There’s a debate on whether or not an Apple Watch is appropriate for a suit and tie event, I say it is. Paired with the correct band. But even then, nothing goes better with a suit than a nice traditional Watch with a leather strap. Of course, not everyone dresses like this. I don’t always either. But even on my casual days, traditional watches just can’t be touched. They’re classy, and people know you mean business. They also give a sense of maturity. While the Apple Watch, just looks like it was intended to be a status symbol. It has some decent features, not all will be useful to everyone. In conclusion, if you’re able to get a great deal on an Apple Watch, go for it. I don’t recommend spending full retail price on it, and I also don’t recommend using it as your daily watch. And if you’re not into watches, then maybe the watch isn’t for you. Buy from a trusted seller that allows hassle free returns if you change your mind.

I've had mine for about two weeks as well. I use it for cycling as I find it much better than putting my phone on the stem. And it's waterproof (my phone is not). Plus I have a heart rate monitor that straps to the chest, which saves a lot on battery life. It stores music and I can pair my Bluetooth headphones and run without my phone. I love the notifications, reminders and ipay. I did buy it from the Nike store and they had a sale. I would not have bought it for its original price. But the watch is really beginning to grow on me!

Jason, Thanks for the great review. You and I think alike - somewhat. There isn't a person walking around on the planet that NEEDS a smart watch. It's a convenience - and a nice one at that. I've been an "Apple fan" for the last 5 years and like their products and customer support. I'm getting the watch because I want as close to the perfect time as I can get on my wrist. I have 13 watches right now and I have to reset them all the time. Not so with an Apple Watch. Okay, a little OCD here.

I'm sure there will be those who disagree with me here. As someone who has interacted with Apple since their early years in the 80;s until now, I've seen the different transitions the company has gone through. Even with the technologies Apple has pioneered, those technologies are available more widely cross platform, then even a few years ago now. I'm not sure I would say apple is a big game changer now as they were a few years ago. Apple still produces nice products, but the sense it's something completely new, I feel those days are over. As you said in your review, the Apple Watch is nice to have, and it helps a few groups of people, but it's not something as a whole thats going to make a big difference in people's lives, or offer them much they don't already have. That was nice of your sister though to give that to you. Have a great day!

For me, smart watches have a very clear advantage and a very clear disadvantage. A regular watch just tells the time, and most often than not premium watches are quite expensive, where usually for about the same or less money you can have the Apple Watch which might not be that important to your day to day life but it definitely adds some easiness for some stuff, and it offers more other just than telling the time. The disadvantage is that this is a tech product which means that it has a life cycle of a maximum of two years before it becomes obsolete. So it is up to personal preference, do you want to have chronograph that is gonna last the better part of your life, or do you want to have something a bit less fancy that you'll have to change every couple of years, but which also it will add something more in terms of use.

I'm interested in buying an Apple Watch series 2 in rose gold after I've had a Fitbit HR for 2 years. Would you recommend the 38mm or 42mm?? I have a small wrist but ppl have said the text is small to read on the 38mm? What do you think?
@JSLReview
@JSLReview 7 жыл бұрын
The best recommendation is to go to an apple store or best buy and go try it on, it's the best way to get a feel for both. If you can't, the 42 is a safer bet because the 38 is quite small for a smart watch. but go and try it on if you can! Hope this is helpful, thanks for watching!

yours is newer than mine, i love mine i got 1st gen, use it every day, I had watches before that use to make phone calls, but the apple watch is a new kid on the block much better, its used for working out and quick glances of what i use the most, I dont need gps for me i dont think that the watch gps is really that good i bet t will drain your batter much more, but mine works great. and battery life rocks.the 1st gen is also water proof i swim with mine max 30ft although apple never advertise it that way. its all marketing gimmicks.

I own an a Series 3 (LTE enabled) and I find myself constantly questioning my purchase. I like it, more than not, I love it, but I’m not sure if dropping $450 is justifiable for a new piece of tech on my wrist. It’s cool and I love using it for basic tasks and checking some of my fitness, but I think I would’ve been happier saving the money and just pulling out my phone to preform the same tasks.

I wish my Apple Watch could control iPads as well as iPhones. It makes a lot of sense. Example I’ll have my giant iPad Pro on the table while I’m doing other things. I have my AirPods in listening to KZbin. I’d love to be able to control the volume and play\pause from the watch. The AirPods take too long. I don’t understand why Apple only gives certain abilities on certain devices. Are they afraid it will affect sales? I love the Apple ecosystem but it has drawbacks. All of the devices should be able to at least control each other more.

Yes, I think it would be great to have an activity tracker and sleep tracker as well as a very quick way to interface with Omnifocus... but if I get one more screen harassing me throughout the day I'm going to lose it. I need a virtual assistant AI just to interface with my digital property. Also..... what the hell is going on with apple and wireless? Are they trying to bluetooth and WiFi us to death? I'd rather it just be a stand alone device that doesn't link and you plug it in at night. It should emit minimal RF pollution.
