Ever since our Superbowl win, I have been thinking allot about the the QB I called "Big Guns". Donovan McNabb was a superb QB. His stats demonstrate that. While at Philly, he put the birds on top many times in games which might have or should have gone the other way. I liked DM allot. Not at first though, but he grew on me slowly and like wine, as the old cliche goes, he got better and better. Putting a 250lb plus QB in the line up has it's advantages, but in DM's case this proved amazingly true. He could run as well as throw and man did he run. Often knocking defensive lineman over as if they were no going concern. Very athletic and powerful, his tenacity to move the team forward was also amazing. Oh the big guy has mad some mistakes in life, but he who is without sin, let the cast the proverbial stone. DM's time at Philly was fraught with issues regarding those quote/ unquote playmakers. After all, as great a QB as DM was, he cannot constantly do it all. It is my firm belief that had Philly went shoping early on when DM was picked up by Philly and had they had a three or more player selection of those so called play makers, Philly would have run over every single team, not only in our league, but in the entire NFL. Yes, that's a pretty bold statement considering the company DM had in our league, but the truth be told, a QB is only as good or great as his receivers are. Kinda like the Troy Aikman/ Micheal Irvin combo. If you get my meaning. During his tenure at Philly, DM made many, what looked like absolute dead plays, into touchdowns. All by running the ball. Of course, Philly fans loved it. I have always been a loyal Cowboys fan going clear back to their inception. However, I have also loved the Eagles. It was the fans that made me love the Eagles. Oh sure, they can get a little off the reservation now and then, but you will never ever meet a bunch of finer people in your life. Loyal to the bone. Win or lose. They just all show up like the fire department. I LOVE YOU GUYS..... Because of my love for the Eagles fans and my love for the Eagles, I made a promise back in the early 80's. If the Eagles win the Superbowl, I would become an Eagles fan right then and there. Well, they won and I am so very happy "WE" did it finally broke that long drought. Vindication for McNabb and Vick. Nick Foles was simply outstanding. He deserves much praise for his tireless efforts to beat what many considered to be the best NFL team in history. Well, despite the Patriots Superbowl and Playoff records and stats, I personally tip my hat to the Eagles and the Cowboys. Two franchises in our league that, in my opinion, are vastly superior to the Pats, regardless of stats, As for the big guy himself, I love Donovan McNabb. I thought he was an excellent athlete. Who demonstrates the meaning of never quiting. Even when injured with a broken ankle, he came back out, taped up and played. That takes guts. Our Superbowl win was a win for every guy who ever put on that green and white uniform with the Eagle helmet. As football players go, Donovan McNabb ranks in the top 5 best overall quarterbacks to ever play the game. One last thought. I honestly have to go here. This business about pointing out a man's color or race is stupid. I really don't give a damn if a player is black, white, yellow, red.......hell green for all I care, it's his knowledge......skills......abilities that determine how good or great he is. Color and race at meaningless. Pointless. Donovan McNabb is first and foremost an American. Secondly, a great athlete. Lastly, a good father, husband and friend to all those that know him. Philly was a better team with him then without him. I will never ever blame him solely for the playoff defeats. He is but one player on a team. A team that was lacking in those, quote/ unquote playmakers. Philly fans, they know the truth alright. Cowboys fans said the same crap about Danny White. Well, White wasn't even in the same league as McNabb. FLY EAGLES FLY.......WE WON......WE FINALLY WON......🇺🇸🏈🇺🇸🏈🇺🇸🏈🇺🇸

not an eagles fan anymore but when I was in middle and high school I rooted for the eagles because of Donovan McNabb. he was my favorite player to watch so I was kind of an eagles fan in the 2000s. it's sad how much he's hated by Philly he's literally the besf QB they ever had smh.

Donovan would have won MVP in 2006 if he didn’t get hurt. It’s a shame

Unrelated but @6:09 on the crawl you can see Kobe had a stat line on this day of 38 pts 11 rebs & 8 assists while become the youngest player to reach 20k career points. McNabb & Kobe were two of my favorite players at this time
