That was your apology to Jackson Sparks mother?. Listen dude……everyone outside of the city of Waukesha were sorry this happened…..just as we are sorry that 9-11 happened or that the Las Vegas massive shooting happened……but we were not the ones who committed those crimes. We don’t need to apologize for them. Your apology should of been worded…..I’m sorry for what I did….. I am sorry I ran through this parade killing and injuring people. We had a TV show here in the UK years ago called embarrassing bodies. It got people to see a doctor over an issue that many people might have, get a diagnosis, but will have felt embarrassed about. I always remember one of the doctors saying "if you have something embarrassing to you, it isn't the first time a doctor has seen it, we have always seen worse". I imagine having had the jobs that judge Dorrow has had and the cases she has worked on, that she has seen horrible incidents before, not on this scale, but I assume she has seen this sort of thing before. She did get visibly upset during her own sentencing remarks when talking about the victims, their families etc. For those unfamiliar with the sentencing of this case, judge Dorrow named the sentence and for which person it related to. He was sentenced to 6 life sentences without parole, plus over 1 thousand years in added time for the lesser charges.

I would argue that telling the jury over and over that they have the right to nullify the jury could be considered threatening the jury. If you've reached the point that your primary defense is telling the jury over and over that they have the right to either choose to be there and to find you guilty, or the opportunity to walk away, then you are giving a veiled threat. At the end of the day his closing argument quite literally comes down to "I didn't do it but I refuse to offer any facts, evidence, or arguments to defend myself. That said, you should forgive me for doing the thing I didn't do and walk away because it's in your power to do so." As for the only little bit of a defense he offered, the vehicle malfunction. Sure doesn't seem like he made any effort at all to avoid the people he ran over. If I had to choose between running over a parade of people or crashing my car when it malfunctioned, I'd crash the car. I think any even slightly decent person would.
@nice1cool2 жыл бұрын

@HarbingerOfRespite2 жыл бұрын
@@lorigreen4134 My point was to his character. Any decent human being, if they found themselves in the position he claims, would choose to crash the car, not run full speed into a parade full of people. The only defense he offers is an admittance of his own inhumanity.
@tommybrown9534 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. He genuinely thinks that simply letting the jurors know that they have that power, that they'll choose to nullify for him. Lol just another attempt to escape accountability. He actually thought the “ questionable recall “ on car would exonerate him. The car was tested to see if any mechanical failure were an issue. No ,everything worked , brakes , and gas petals,horn and steering wheel. What needed to be recalled was his brain, ethics and a responsibility chip, with a remorse button.

If you watch the unedited video of him running into and over the victims from behing "they didn't stand a chance" His car was rocking up and down side to side as he crushed their bodies and kept his foot on the gas and kept going. He had total disregard for human life and knew he was ploughing through children ect. He is a demon with no remorse or regret for the innocent victims he killed injured and the hundreds of victims who now suffer from PTSD for the rest of their lives.... And it's not the narrative because we all watched the video of you doing what you did.

Attorney Sue Opper was astounding throughout this trial but her closing speech was simply phenomenal. She laid it all out on the line, fact by fact and Brookes despised every second that he was forced to listen to every word. His hatred for Ms Opper was so apparent throughout, he despised her, he knew he could not break her and he hated that fact. I found her closing to be one of the most brilliant ever. She is such a strong attorney and worth her weight in gold. Congratulations to her for getting her final say on this disgusting, lying, revolting piece of scum who showed absolutely no respect to anyone, let alone the victims and made a mockery of the Court, Judges, Prosecution but above all showed himself to be a total idiot. Thank God for Judge Dorrow also, who was a tower of strength throughout the trial, having to put up with his ridiculous, rude, disrespectful rantings was not easy, but she handled him so well with dignity and even respect even though he did not deserve it. I can't think of any other criminal that I despise as much as him, he was unbearable to watch. I can just imagine him in jail being the same belligerent, arrogant, loathsome, narcissist thinking he is the "big man" in there, let's hope he is soon put down.

In addition he's a misogynist. Thinks women are beneath him. How it must have ground his soul to have 2 intelligent, well educated women take him to task!!😮

poor guy, its not his fault that the court, judge, jury, DA’s, police, credible witnesses, victims, family, ex, county, state and country are all wrong.

He set himself him for failure so many times but the closing arguments is where he really did it. Telling the jury to do what's right and nullify the law so he can get off for killing 6 people and hurting scores of others is crazy as hell. The delusion this man is in is beyond hilarious and concerning at the same time.

His brain is on a one track rollercoaster. He only thinks one way. How can I bs or talk my way out of things. He's done that his entire miserable life. The judge was right. He is full of anger and rage. He's only nice when he thinks he'll get his way and when he doesn't. He explodes. If he had enough time to get away with this, I have no doubt he would've tracked Erika down again and killed her. That was his entire mission but thankfully Kori and Nick interrupted that plan. He'll never change.
