It's cool that an optimal speedrun for this game looks so stylish, most games would have you glitching through walls for 95% of the run. Also your retextures to make gum & yoyo have their original jsr color schemes look great

If you don't care about having an extra console in your house or room, then I would just get an original Xbox. I found one for 63$ total at a Flea Market. They may have some for even cheaper at regular thrift stores.

if you have a PC that's beefy enough for emulation, I believe CBX is the current software and it runs JSRF with no slowdown (unlike the 360 which kinda chugs in 99th street and with characters that have any physics applied to their model)

Could be because the placement of the Love Shockers on character selection is quicker. I've noticed most other runners use Love Shockers over Immortals too.

I'm not very familiar with speed run tactics in general, so I'm really curious. What's the purpose for switching between Gum to Corn back to Gum again at the beginning of Kibogoaka Hill?

changing characters reloads the level, which restarts the cop dialogue. if the cop dialogue never gets to finish, then the helicopter fight never starts which allows us to spray everything we need to and then escape the trigger zone without having to waste time fighting the helicopters. more info here www.jsrfspeedruns.com/levels/kibogaoka-hill#h.k8y4nzd7z2cw

yes because the game doesn't track the race's completion at all, and winning the race gives you literally nothing

most of the run: gum because she has the best cornering ch1: yoyo because it's too slow to switch to anyone else until ch2 endgame: jazz because she holds 35 cans which makes the final bosses faster postgame: love shockers or immortals because they have better cornering than gum

slide keeps your speed going, look a the speed bar on the bottom right when you do it after a boost vs just skating!
