Yes I doo . It is so hard! Mostly the F and having to play that loud takes SO MUCH AIR and LIP TIGHTNESS . I can’t believe they did that so amazingly ❤ but another thing . some people are complaining about how short that part was BUDDY I’m glad it was short because you can only blow out a certain amount y’know? As a baritone player I do know lol

It's still very underrated but I still beleive french horns are rarer, in all state over 300 baritone went to auditions, only 25 horns did the same year.

A jazz sax tone is not the same a a classical sax tone for example. they used to say the same thing about jazz sax too that it wasn't good tone. It's really just subjective and part of a superiority thing that's passed down with no real justification

I don’t mind people playing like this in college marching band though, you’re right, you can do what you want, and there is a charm in just letting it rip. However as soon as you get outside of college marching band people stop liking this, and if you aspire to play music anywhere else, you shouldn’t aspire for this sound. And to be fair overblowing and stress, you have to admit, is incredibly inefficient. Striving to be in-tune will make you sound just as loud with half the people.

@@codenames85 That’s simply not true. Nobody who isn’t a musician gives a flying shit about corps style. every time I see a corp style band go in front of a group of non musicians, it’s cricket. However when show style bands do it? All of a sudden everybody is cheering and loud. Odd how that works. All state musician by the way so I have a clue of what I’m talking about: his tuning is fine. I’m actually surprised he’s so in tune while being so high and playing so loud. Playing loud ≠ overblowing. And the tuning thing isn’t true. Playing together makes you louder, not in tune. If that were the case, drum corps without their speakers and amplification would be louder than HBCU bands; and they’re not. If it’s not your style that’s fine, but don’t go around spreading lies as “fact”, because you’re wrong. People said the same things you’re saying about show style about rock, and now rock is one of the most famous music genres.
