JT's Record Room and Steve Herold's channel are great. They both travel a lot. I've seen some of Steve's short comedy films ( Death Of An Umbrella Salesman, Waimea and Bum Runner.) Pretty creative stuff if you ask me. Looks like a great entry Carl, good luck!

Thank you for the thoughtful words about my channel, Carl. Love your foodie covers. My favorite is Rubinoos, and I do agree that their earlier 70s output is the best ! Nice shout-out for Steve Herold. I have seen two of his indie films. He is a pro, for sure! Woolworth, I will listen, right after this 🎵 You are entered into the drawing with Sean doing the honors, randomly picking 3 winners on Sept. 29th Sunday 1 pm PST. Thanks for taking the time to make an entry, Carl 👍

Hi JT. You were quick off the mark. I keep hoping you'll get over to the UK sometime, so we can organise a UK meet-up with all your friends here. I could introduce you to charity shops! They nearly all have a friendly atmosphere and of course you never know what you'll find. I looked Steve Herold up on the IMDb website. I didn't realise how successful he has been. It's funny how you can watch someone on KZbin and just know you are watching a kindred spirit. I definitely feel that with Steve and you. I must see if I can find any of his films on KZbin. I'm looking forward to seeing the draw. What are the odds on a clean sweep for the UK?
@jtsrecordroom3963Ай бұрын
Haha.😆 The Las Vegas line for a UK sweep are 2 to 1 right now for you guys over the pond ! I was hoping for a 3 day lay-over next spring in London but my wife booked us through Paris for 3 days. I could come to London for the day, or .. You could come to Paris ? We'll figure it out, I'm sure. It was great having Steve visit me here in Reno, he drove 500 miles from LA to get here !
@jtsrecordroom3963Ай бұрын
It would be fun to visit a charity shop, and possibly, one or two good record stores ! It would be too much fun to see you and others over in England !
@carltweed942Ай бұрын
@@jtsrecordroom3963 We think of distances different in the UK to what you do in the States. For us 40 miles is quite a long way! A meet up in either London or Paris could be doable.
@jtsrecordroom3963Ай бұрын
Alright.. Well see ! We are coming to Paris, for sure.. 3 days. One of them, I could leave for London in the morning, and return in the evening to Paris. Not sure, yet.

Cheers Mike. The best place to hear Woolworthy is on their website at woolworthy.com. If you think you like them, Aston (Boss Tuneage label owner) did an excellent video on their career on Boss Tuneage's KZbin channel.

I'm not familiar with Go Kart Mozart, but I think their album cover is great. I also like Steve's laid-back style. Like you, he always introduces me to new bands. Good luck in the contest! Jt is number one ☝️ Cheers, Carl

Mark, you may know Lawrence from Go Kart Mozart's first band Felt. They recorded a number of albums for the Creation label back in the 80s/90s. I enjoyed seeing the VCLT you got from Steve! Take care.

Hi Nick. I'm working my way through some of the other entrants in JT's contest. I'll be over to your channel very shortly. I'm not surprised that you've got that Laurel and Hardy album, with you being a comedy fan too. For me Laurel and Hardy are simply the best. I would laugh so much when I watched them aged 6, and if anything I love them even more now. Good luck to you in the contest. I think there's a chance of a clean sweep by the UK contingent.

Hi Carl, new to your channel but as a lifelong fan of powerpop, glam and bubblegum music fan here in Manchester UK I'm loving your content especially the playlist of tracks and music documentary's. I also have that Laurel & Hardy album too as a big comedy fan also. I have also subbed so I look forward to more posts.

Hi Ricky. I'm glad you like the playlists. I dip into the playlist of music documentaries myself when there's nothing on TV. I recently re-watched part 3 of the BBC's 'Punk Britannia'. It sounds like we have a lot in common. I picked up a double DVD of Joyce Grenfell at the BBC today. Thanks for subscribing.

@@carltweed942Good find I love Joyce! Yes my wife and I pretty much live in the past re comedy right from the music hall days of the 30's /40's through 50's and probably the 70's as I grew up with stuff like Rising damp, On the buses etc!.

@@carltweed942 Yes the 70's were definately a golden age for comedy. Regarding the music hall stuff I bought a large cd boxset comp of music hall songs a few years back as it was on a list of all time top 10 favourite comps of Bob Stanley of Saint Etienne the list also included the Fading Yellow series,Nuggets,piccadilly circus etc.

I do have the Rubinoos debut from 1977 which I quite like but I didn't keep up with them. Did Go-Kart Mozart get their name from the Springsteen song "Blinded By The Light?" I enjoyed hearing about the Laurel & Hardy record. I will have to check out Woolworthy. I found that I was subscribed to your channel as well. Cheers.
@carltweed942Ай бұрын
Hi Randy. Yes, Go-Kart Mozart got their name from 'Blinded By The Light'. However they are definitely nothing like Springsteen! You may like Woolworthy. They deserve to have a bigger profile.

@@STEVEHEROLD I've not been to a record shop in London since the mid-90s. I know there are a few shops in Berwick Street in Soho and surrounding streets (Reckless, Sister Ray, Sounds Of The Universe, Third Man etc). If you saw Norman Maslov's videos from when he went to London in August, he visited a few. If you finish up spending the day in Brighton, there are many record shops. I've never been, but I know it's become a trendy place in recent years.
