I loke your videos. But am still so far away from understanding your jtag systems. I am a printer technician. Often than not i reprogramme bios by unsoldering then back. Majority were the soic 8. Quity easy to unsolder and solder. Now comes latest models with wson8 chip poke the w25q512jv. Is there a way of programming this chip in circuit or i must unsolder

Hi Morris, using boundary scan you can program a device without removing it from the board. In-system programming is a common part of the systems used by many of our customers. However in order to do such programming there are some requirements in terms of the board design. You first need to check if the processor to which the flash is connected implements JTAG boundary scan (finding the BSDL file for the device is the best way to check this). If the flash is connected to a JTAG enabled device (and you have the BSDL file) you then need to know which pins on the processor are connected to your flash. This information is normally extracted from a netlist. If you have the BSDL file and the netlist then it should be possible to setup some programming functions.
