This video showed how to prepare the quick disconnects for re-installation, something none of the other videos did. They assumed that it was intuitive and it is not, having installed them wrong and corrected it , due to this video. Thanks you just saved me a trip to the automotive repair shop

I love your honesty. A lot of people would try to act like they know it all but the helpful part is seeing how you had to deal with the little glitches that come along with the repair. Thanks so much for being who you are .

VGAPR Garage: Thanks for the video. My 98 F150 was leaking from first hose that connects to back of engine. I pulled on hose and it came out, I then shoved hose back in gave hose slight pull and hose stayed in. Started engine checked for leaks no more leaks. I did all of this before finding your video but at least I know how to fix in the future.

People Don't Realize- SHIIIT FALLS down the "grate" (cowl under the windshield- Falling RIGHT DOWN THE HEATER core !) Pull it off every once in a while (I say year or 2🤔) and use small Vacuum Hose to suck it Out😉
@MrCoffeekelly7 жыл бұрын
just cut the quick connects off and clamp the hoses directly to the heater core.
@amandag7354 жыл бұрын
I never thought of that. Hate those "quick" disconnects. Nothing quick about them...
@talkstospirits23994 жыл бұрын
hi what if its a pressurized hose can you still do that?
@tinkerscorner544 жыл бұрын
That's asking for trouble. There is no barb to hold the hose. I did that a couple of weeks ago on a windstar and, today I blew all my coolant out at a stop light. Luckily, got shut down by a convenience store, got some distilled water, hooked the hose back up and got home. The quick disconnect will be replaced tomorrow.

when you screw the last two clamps on I heard it is better to clamp them with the nut 180 degrees from the other nut on the hose. Both Facing outward of course.

The heater core pipe has a metal lip that the proper "Quick Release Fitting" must snap over & lock in place to ward off any pressure. ---> Most 5.4L Motors : Hose with fitting : #F65Z18472BBC

I'm a little late to the party, but who else was yelling "Just cut it! You're not reusing it!" (for the hose that wasn't coming off). He eventually got around to it. Those white tabs at the end of the qd are suppose to be squeezed to release it. Guess not.

I have a 2001e150 4.6liter . And I wonder if uve ever had to replace the nipple in the front of the block that the heater hose connects to? They say it's pressed in. I had a pinhole leak just below the hose. The problem was, the nipple has a leveled landing so the hose wouldn't slide down farther on the nipple. So what i did was cut a inch and a half piece of hose sliced it to wrap it around the nipple and clamp it. Rock Auto sells the nipple, 3 bucks. But,, getting the old one out is my delema. That's why I'm asking. I think I may have ask you this a year or so ago. Anyway, at least I can get it if it gets bad again and the fix is impossible. Thanks so much. Glad u got your new tripod. Course this is old, so I'm sure you've come a long way since then. Nice to hear the roosters. Homey. Take care.

We always refer to him is just heater hose pliers or hose pliers, the bent round tubing that goes down into the manifold is a press fitting I'm pretty sure it's not welded it's not threaded it's definitely pressed don't pull it out! Dripping water on top of number 8 cylinder is no fun either. My question to you all is the 4.6 Romeo heater hoses same setup same stupid little high pressure line fittings just like you'd see on the fuel line I took mine off they wanted 170 bucks at the Ford dealership in Pueblo for those stupid little plastic Clips I took them off I threw them away I hooked my hoses straight to it but, I have a lot of pressure in my system it's a new motor and I'm thinking that that Romeo strip naked like it is should have had a bypass does anybody know anything about this thank you
