This song was the impetus. An impulse for a real and thorough search in Polish history. Total amateurs started rummaging through books and archives. And suddenly it turned out that what young people learn in history lessons is only a small fraction of knowledge. Suddenly it turned out that the Warsaw Uprising was neither boring nor ordinary. especially when it turned out that even deaf people had their own ward. And a lot of things that seem strange and amazing. And that the Poles did not let themselves be defeated by the Germans so easily. And Poland's contribution to winning World War II is much greater than anyone could have imagined.

My favorite Sabaton song/story is the Last Battle, Americans fighting with Germans to save French prisoners in a medieval Austrian castle.

Sabaton are just modern bards, telling stories of history through music so they are not forgotten. It's such an amazing thing and they deserve all the praise they get and more.

I was raised in Germany, but my father had polish ancestory, so this song always gets to me. Thanks for your reaction to the history!

i feel you, even if i know, that my Grandfather and his Brothers were active involved in WWII since ´39. I know, its fact. I feel you, i love the Song, the people i met listening to it, and i feel some kind of guilty...hard to explain

Everytime, you just wanna know more, it is awesome, best history teachers I've ever had. The advancement in science, medicin and technology during ww1 was incredible, something good came from it but still you wonder if it was worth it?

I tried answering 10 times and deleting it because the answer of worth it is so hard. It shows that we as humans can adapt and overcome a lot when our backs against the wall. We will develop new ways to do things, etc as you mentioned. You can name 100 things positive but then compare it to human life you start the questioning all over again.

I think, as you said, it's about being able to listen. People of today get so blinded of their own beliefs that it's impossible for them to accept that other people thinking differently.

I'm very proud of Poland and very thankful to SABATON for this and other songs about Poland's ww2 resistence. They made us feel miserable over yoears after the war. We didn't get any recompensation from the losing Germany because of communist regime. And looked how Germany, the losing the war country, fluorished and developed :-( So yes, I am proud and thankful listening to Sabaton! We, Poles, knew this all from our fathers and grandfathers, today thanks to Sabaton, the rest of the world might know the truth. The huge impression made on me 40:1 Woodstock 2012 live concert with Jurek Owsiak's big flag idea :-)
