Put those sleeves in a bucket of Evaporust. Let them sit 24 to 48 hours. The Evaporust will not eat at the metal at all. It will only dissolve the rust. The pistons should come out easy. You could make up a tube from PVC pipe with a plug on 1 end and a treaded plug on the other end. Use a diameter that the sleeve will fit in and allow for a fair amount of Evaporust around it.

I've found a small bottle jack , a chain and two wooden blocks are the best ways on these engines to get them unstuck in a controlled manner . Fill the cylinders with diesel and light it on fire once the fire is out wrap the chain around the bottom of the engine over the top place one block inside the cylinder on top of the piston, bottle jack and the other block on top of the jack against the chain and put tension via the jack .

Hello JT. As you said your in pretty deep, but a shame to not hear the old unit cookodoodle do. So to speak. I noticed you were not driving the piston with the sleve on a very solid support. It looked like a concrete block on a plastic milk crate. Put the sleve and piston in the freezer, or suround it dry ice until thoughly cold. Use a hard wood block if you can get one, I use an Ash block. Place sleeve and piston on a solid concrete floor and play whacamolie with a 15 or 20lb sledge hammer. (A soft wood block takes too much snap out of the impact and usually disintergrates.) I have never had this fail to get the piston to move. They were not all serviceable after removal ( most were) but it is not serviceable now so not much to lose. At least you will be able to salvage connecting rod and probably the wrist pin. Good luck looking forward to seeing the battle continue.

Excellent video JT :) what year this Cockshutt 40 this with BUTA Motor 235 Cubic Cm 6 cylinder motor 43 hp with 60 or 90 torque also 6 volt positive ground and 60 amp Generator! Those tractor built in Brampton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 how I know those tractor my late Grandfather Bill Cann Sr bought brand new one on 1950 was made on 1 month - 18 day - 1950 for $4,000 Canada dollars! Also my late Uncle Bill Cann JR was age 16 drove back to farm east Toronto Ontario in place called Perrytown north of Port Hope Ontario Canada in 8 days in April 1 to 9 of 1950 ! Plus my dad Don Cann and Grandfather Bill Sr followed him in 1950 Caddy GM car Lol ! I remember the tractor on farm one grew was same one Grandfather Bill , Dad , Uncle had for 80 years together from 1918 to 1997 ! In 1957 my uncle Bill and Don (Dad) bought of Grandfather Bill and his wife Ruby my grandmother! Sold farm in 1997 in 1993 Cockshutt COOP 40 gas tractor the motor seized up because number 3 and 4 cylinder bearings in Crankshaft from gears on oil pump and distributor broke in bearing seized up ! No motor could find for Buta 6 cylinder 235 Cubic Cm check worldwide USA an Canada plus we tried pull with another tractor to! So sold for parts and fix up another another Cockshutt 40 COOP gas tractor and one fix up guy did with old we had farm! But have heard Chrysler (Dodge) truck 235 6 cylinder motor were optional motor for those in 1951 to 1955 bolt up no problem but put wing mounts front end of motor to and in near oil pan bolts front to ! Yes those Buta Motor powerfull when running and hear running think Oshkosh 6 cylinder of Oliver tractor or a Farmall Row crop A to H basic tractor sounds on nice purring sounds! Fun to maintain up too and serivce too! If need more information about ask me in not sure about them ! Hopefully this tractor got crank wand to wind up this should be on right side below carb near manifold on near Generator if there!
