There were two great things about the Zeorymer OVA. The Zeorymer itself, and this song.

Comic was 1983. OVA was 1988. That's not the 90's.

Not just that, but Zeorymer is so absurdly strong in its own story and in games, every fight is a blow-out. It's so overwhelming that it's presented more like a villain. Every time it's appeared in Super Robot Taisen games, it's been a balance-breaker (it was fun as hell in SRW J). Also, no other main character comes close to how cleanly evil Masaki is. People watching the show usually come to feel sorry for the enemy faction Nematoda, because even their leader shows more restraint and moral conflict when exacting revenge than Masaki, and all of the Nematoda mech pilots have their own very human flaws they struggle with. Usually they realise some mistake we emphasize with (like sisterly love), then Zeorymer just comes in and blows them to pieces. Miku the female protagonist just gets outright mistreated as well. Masato is... kinda in the background mostly throughout, but the show can't go without a heroic and kind-hearted boy, so there he is.
