Nice Juan ✨ This is probably the only example of “slap chop” I’ve seen that actually looks good. Most of the other examples have too much of a chalky, dry brushed look.

You can also utilize a damp sponge (a la the Artis Opus method) to get a more polished/smooth result instead of chalky. A lot of people do the chalky because they have no patience.

Mate... when you did an Xpress wash to nail the shadows rather than priming dark and then dry/air brushing up... that was practically a forehead slapping moment! Thank you for that. If only I can overcome my own flare up of can't-be-arseditis I can indeed get cracking.

I've become a big fan of the Xpress paints, thanks to you! I had tried AP Speedpaints and, while they're not bad, the Xpress paints just go down smoother and dry more matte, which I like. The Artify brushes aren't bad, either! Had an issue with the largest brush, but an extra crimp fixed it.

I really like that bretonia models aren't as overdesigned. Simple shapes, easy to paint. I've been trying to paint my sororitas for ages (wanted to do slapchop, but tried more traditional mini painting as well) and i'm just struggling soo much.

Hi Juan, your recommendation for Xpress colours commando green and dwarf skin amazed me, they are great colours to work with in the dilutions you've provided. I purchased Templar white and failed, it resulted in a "pastel" colour that do not goes well with medieval figures. Any other colour from Xpress you would recommend for undershirts or similar clothing? Thank you for the great video.

Would Wyldwood be the right substitute for Willow Bark? I can't get that locally. Great technique by the way! Slapchop with a sepia palette is far superior to the black & white you so often see.

Yes it would be a good substitute but you will have to thin it even more. I totally agree, except for blues, it's by far the best undertone palette for Slapchop

It looks like express medium you use is mat? I have Army Painter speedpaint medium and it's gloss AF. If I add 4/1 and over - I get fully gloss finish, it looks like glass. Can you confirm?

I wish I had the confidence to just not paint the back of the weapon and hidden places. I trully wish, but I like to take pictures of my minis and sometimes the camera just catches every single detail. Slap chop actually help a lot with this problem though because natural shades build themselves in the darkest spots.
