OMG, You are very talented. I'm really loving your channel. That afghan is beautiful. I would suggest keeping it as is and possibly adding a short napped tattered fringe to the whole inseam, with a mixed blend of all colors. Give it a kinda distressed seam on the backside and probably a twisted fringe border too. I absolutely love the colors you've done that in. The hooded sweater is gorgeous. It would be a shame to not enjoy. I would add length to it and make it a bathrobe. Forget the buttons add pockets, a belt and loops. It would be great to lounge around in during those cold winter days. Looks so comfortable. Congrats on your channel. Your very pleasant to listen to while I'm crocheting. Best of luck and thanks for sharing.

These little time capsules become even more important to you as time goes on. Treasure this! As someone below has said, it's your "Then and Now" blanket. I'm in favor of adding a border, sewing in the ends, and loving it for what it is. Grow as you grow and celebrate that? My mother passed away rather suddenly in early 2021 and I inherited several of her WIPs, being the only survivor in my immediate family. No one else is interested in most of her crafted things. She was a very tiny person all her life and her sweaters and such are all so very small! I've frogged a number of them and used that yarn to create things I can use and give to my two adult children to use. Seeing that yarn being utilized and useful or admired has been like a healing salve to my soul. I give away items to charities and friends and it makes the gifts more meaningful to me and often to them. I think of my mother every time my eyes or hands touch those things. It's lovely. As for your buttons; you can go with a mixture of them for a fun and quirky look? You can crochet over them or cover with fabric or paint to make matches of any color. You can use mismatched buttons and glue (or stitch) a tiny item to the center of each to make them match-but-not- match. You can use the buttons for something else and make toggles or frog closures for your sweater. You can make a laced-up closure or a hook-and-eye closure. I rather like the idea of adding some leather or suede . . . . . Regardless, black trim on the scarf seems to dictate black buttons on the sweater to me.
