First of all I need to thank you Juan for bringing my crojo back, especially the sessions with your Mother Wilma. I lost my Mom in 2020 to dementia and when I tuned into your Sunday night crochet chat, I noticed that your Mom looks so much like mine that it was a sign for me to get going and be creative again. So I’ve been tuning in since before Christmas and have completed 4 of the projects that I started, one over a year ago. I have no one to crochet with and crocheting with you and mom has been very dramatic for me. BTW my husband thanks you as well, as I suffer from depression and anxiety and when I crochet he says my face changes and I am very calm.

Hi Juan. I'm knitting my MAL and thankfully noticed that I yarned over and missed the purl stitch so I had to tink back 1\2 my row. My hands are not in pain right now but after crocheting so much this past year I had forgotten how sloow knitting is compared to crochet. I'm glad you have given us to March 1st to complete. I decided to knit a garment for a change of scenery. Anyway, thanks for keeping me company. Hugs.

As always I enjoyed this session. I am finally back to my normal mental state. To clarify what I meant on the live, I had been going through some things with my mom and It had made me so depressed that I asked my dr. if I could get my meds upped and she said certainly because I had been going to her for lots of years and she knew me very well. When your meds get upped you go through a period of adjustment and that was when I was going through it (sometimes it can take about a week). I was cleaning my desk tonight of paperwork while watching instead of crocheting. I am almost finished with one project I had started over a year ago. I was making a rainbow tote bag to take with me to the store and whatnot. I just need to secure the handles on both sides of the tote and I am done. I used Sheepjes Soft Fun yarn I got from "All around the Yarn table" in Cleveland Ohio. It was about 1 mile from my son's house. They carry all kinds of hanked yarn and hand-dyed and they even have people sitting around a table making their projects. I will be here for the next one.

I have some very old variegated yarn. No ball bands, unfortunately, but pretty sure they are red heart. Love to you and momma Wilma!! 💚💚💚 Also, I posted the other day on you fb group my temperature blanket I did in the moss stitch. 12 squares. I think it finished at 54x72 and I finished it with the crab stitch.

Yes, Juan , I love doing Tunisian crochet it’s so repetitive and relaxing ! I just finished a Tunisian Shrug by TL Yarn crafts… I just love it, it was a quick make. And right now I have a Tunisian blanket on my hook, Motley blanket by TL Yarn Craft… but I must tell you I prefer to use the full stitch as opposed to the simple stitch as I am a very tight crocheter and the simple stitch becomes too bulky for me.

I talk to myself as well when I’m crafting. 😊

So happy to see you using Susan Bates hooks. I learned on Susan Beto, and still use them. But I prefer the plain ones, with no pan handle. I also love my tulips, and the wonderful clover, amour books. In addition, I very much enjoy using the Knit Picks radiant laminated wood hooks in the larger sizes. They are so beautiful. Well, I have to say I still love my old Susan Bates hooks. I just bought a set, and keep it in my to go bag. I especially like that they are color coated, as are the clover Moore. This is a big help when you have impaired vision.

Hello Juan! replay hugs! I do a little bit of knitting, also Tunisian and crochet as well. Also for my shop I make greeting cards for various occasions. Currently, while resting and listening to you, I am working on my third top down granny stitch sweater, one raglan sweater all dc. And yes, my Sophies Universe is in time out, probably up to summer. We still have annual inventory, it will be done, hopefully, on the 11th. It needs to be done so that the shops start working on Monday, Jan 13th. So tired with all of the counting, cleaning along the way, putting it all back in it's place. And still I haven't touched the paperwork for 2024. There are some loose ends, not on our part, but on the publishers or wholesaler's end. Some invoices for 2024 haven't been sent yet to be able to close the 2024. Big HUG to you and mama!!!!

You asked- I also remember the “afghan hook” moniker. But I learned all the things as a young child. My mom and I learned every craft. But, I have completed Tunisian blankets! Also washcloths! I have done the woven look where you switch a nice solid with variegated, each row, it’s gorgeous. It appears as a woven blanket. I have also done the Entrelac stitch in blankets. My favorite is the Tunisian half double. No curling. 😉 the woven look Tunisian is taught beautifully by The Make and Do Crew. There is a video.

I love to listen to you and have learned some interesting stiches from you. :)

Here's a hint from a knitter: when you get into small-circumference circular knitting (hats, etc.), take a look at the two-circulars method, vs. double-pointed needles or the magic loop method. IMHO, this is the easiest and most enjoyable way to go.
