I’ve met someone who was impregnated by their father when they were 13, and it depends on the person, of course, but she said she didn’t regret giving birth, she was actually upset that her mom gave the child up and her and her mom’s relationship is terrible now. My grandpa had two girlfriends whose parents took them to Detroit for an abortion unbeknownst to my grandpa, the girlfriends only going through with what their parents told them. Sad that parents can encourage their child to make such a life-altering, possibly world-altering, choice and even more sad that she felt she had to go through with it when one of them at least felt horribly about the whole experience. I’m tired of the lie that abortion doesn’t effect men, and I’m tired of the ridiculous argument that even if it didn’t, we shouldn’t have a say…

i'm actually apalled when wylan talked about being sexually abused at a very young age-young enough to not know what was happening to her body, and constance reponds with "what about the unborn child" without so much as thinking about how wylan *WAS* also a child in that situation! a child that could have been forced to carry ANOTHER child to full term. that is something that i genuinely feel is horrifying and was not even close to being made out to be as horrifying and gut churning as it is when it was over looked so quickly and insensitively instead of actually digesting it even when wylan implies she was very young.

"Becoming a foster parent is a long, tedious, expensive process" Carrying a baby for 9 months and raising a human for the next 18+ years is also a long, tedious, and expensive process. Forcing a human to carry out this process or telling them they are wrong for not doing so is inhumane. This is why the preface that Braedon can never be in a position where he will need an abortion was necessary. This is why women who are pro-choice or people who can get pregnant in general say "what about me?" People who are pro-life are essentially giving the fetus more rights and more control than the very being that has to carry it. No. You cannot find a middle ground when it comes to abortion. You are either fighting for the rights of an embryo or fighting for the rights of a woman. There are so many reasons why abortion is necessary and forcing a woman to carry a baby they dont wish to is insensitive and cruel. Pregnancy is a labor and a job. You cannot call yourself an advocate for human rights if you are denying the rights of those that walk the earth. 32:20

Throughout the episode she talked about wanting a family of her own, I believe once she does start having children seeing them hit milestones and raise them into adulthood she is forever going to remember that child she aborted when she was younger, and maybe she’ll be thankful for it, that because of her decision to give her child up, her current children are allowed to be raised in a healthier situation, but that is a fact that nobody can truly know.

@@Sheeeeerigirl let’s not paint divorce as something always negative. Death of a parent, in 99% of cases, is. I find it ridiculous to even say they are similarly painful, let alone that divorce produces more pain.

@@naariznica3133 Divorce may not always be negative but the effect is still painful on the child. You do realize that it's an innate desire to want our parents? The point is to say it is painful either way. It's the same chemical reaction in the brain. As when I am in labor or when I break a bone-the same region in my brain is activated. And as I said, the process of healing is very different but the pain experienced is very similar.

@@Sheeeeerigirl its not always painful. divorce is better than a two parent home with constant domestic abuse, constant arguments, and no love. its better than watching depressed parents who can't live their lives to the fullest because they are tied down to the other parent, and having them eventually drag the kids down with them or turn their children into free therapists/peacemakers. you'll still have your parents even though they don't live in the same house. some parents even get along way better when they're divorced and become better co-parents. this "divorce is always painful" narrative sounds like it comes from people who never had to watch their parents be miserable cause they wanna stay together "for the kids' sake."

Yeah, I've experienced both, and divorce is sucky, but grief is in a whole other league. No competition, death of a (loved) parent is a million times worse than divorced living parents, at least in my experience.

@@KuraiCelestial That depends. Are you referring to socially wrong or morally wrong? Socially wrong completely depends on societal standards. However, morally wrong is much more philosophical and is based on the collective beliefs of an individual. So it's not so simple. It is possible, in some cases, that the guilt one feels is based on the individual making a decision that goes against their own moral standard, even if it's societally acceptable.

@freedomeagle6192 you have guilt for things that werent even morally wrong. its about what standards you put on yourself. eg: do i have guilt for cutting off toxic people? yes. do i regret it? no. guilt =/= regret.

Braedon being afraid of his own consciousness never existing really bugged me. Like, yeah, it’s scary to think of never existing NOW. But if you had never had existed or had thoughts in the first place… you wouldn’t have the opportunity to fear it! It’s an impossibility. Your worth as a human comes from the life you’ve lived and the experiences you’ve had, NOT from your time spent in utero.

it amazes me that braedon had the courage to share his experience in the foster care system and share all the abuse he was exposed to yet at the same time advocates for the foster care system as if he is okay with his future children experiencing what he did..

@@litlehope8887 my nephew was in foster care BECAUSE his parents were teenagers. they were considering abortion but decided not to, even though that would be the better option rather than having that poor little baby from ages 0-3 being in foster care. it was an unwanted pregnancy and now my nephew will have to deal with the effects of having been in foster care and not having his parents there for the earliest years of his life. i’m not saying i don’t blame this on my brother and his girlfriend - they were heavy drug users, so of course the baby would be taken. i’m saying that if they had have had the abortion, everybody all around would have been happier. kids would rather have not been here than not have their parents there for them and instead have to endure unfair abuse.
