It... doesn't really hold up with anything in the Bible though (or even in _Paradise Lost_ itself, ironically), because God only respects the free will of men. Specifically the men who follow Him. No one else. Plus the Bible has a passage detailing how to buy, own, and sell slaves. So like. Yeah, not holding up.

It feels like it's from the perspective of a public figure who's put on a pedestal by their fans until they're raised and treated like a god. And they're trying to tell people that though the fans treat this person like a god, even they want to be close to people. And even god doesn't know everything there is to know. Even god gets lonely sometimes. It puts idols and famous people into perspective. We should treat them no different then any other normal person. Raising them up can hurt them more than you'd think, especially when you raise them out of reach from the people around them.

Val Xena Considering this song is from Japan, it might come from the perspective of Shintoism, that is the belief that those who have successfully completed the reincarnation can come back as saints in spirit form to help people, and is often worshipped as “gods” of a small area. In Christianity, there is of course, the idea that loved ones can come back from Heaven to help, but they don’t actually treat them with worship. Personally, I don’t see these common characteristics as a coincidence. They don’t mean God with a capital g, the Creator, as much as we don’t see Jesus, the Son, as God the creator, and so these saints who come back to visit to help can still feel feelings of vulnerability. But disagreeing with the Japanese status quo, these saints would just want to be treated as equals. I suggest going to the websites learnreligions or Beliefnet to read about different faiths. Of course, even in Christianity, Jesus felt huge amounts of pain at the cross, so why not these Shinto “gods”?

Your comment sounds like a Catholic scholar in the middle ages trying to explain what Shintoism is whilst desperately trying to avoid the Spanish Inquisition. To my knowledge, Shintoism doesn’t have saints and those that practice it have the belief that the divine are everywhere and easily approached by humans. Shintoism is the religion with 8 million gods as they say.

This song means a lot to me because it literally describes what I'm going through right now and mirrors how isolated I feel in my life. The few friends I have look up to me as some sort of school "guru" because I make great grades. However, this has led to me being seen as a stuck-up prick that thinks like she's above everyone else by the people who refuse to get to know me. Basically, I'm shunned by the people I seek love and approval from just because I do well in school. I'm in no way saying I'm God, but there are some close parallels to my life and what the "god" in the song is going through. Like the "god," I wish that those people who don't like me succeed and realize that I can't really do anything to change the future. For instance, the "prayers" in the song are like people wanting my help for school-related things and believing that if I help them then they will get that grade they dream of. I feel elevated to an idol status, yet I'm still ostracized by my classmates and I can't even do anything to reverse it. Every day I pretend I'm not lonely, but that's a lie. I often wish that I'm someone else (watching a human's dream), but like the character in the song I did actually find someone who liked me for who I was :) So with that said, this song is very near and dear to my heart because it echoes my feelings, thoughts, and life. Amazingly beautiful job, Juby! You bring tears to my eyes

Might I just share this sentence that caught my eye: "Like the "god," I wish that those people who don't like me succeed and realize that I can't really do anything to change the future". Nobody's Business, I definitely believe you can change the future. I can see that these grades are putting a label on you and that you feel isolated, but we are our own individuals. We can choose how to react when people make us feel like our efforts are for naught. Some might say we're doing it to get "attention" when really we're doing it - Well, everyone has their reasons. Point of the matter is to keep learning no matter what people may think. And to those classmates who try to take advantage of your knowledge, maybe you can offer some advice on studying habits or ask if they've tried tutoring (if your teachers offer that). In the end, they're the ones responsible for their own learning. And I'm not tryna bash anyone out. I tend to be guilty for this too, but I think some advice, no matter how small, will take 'em a long way.

I actually relate to this as well, I take multiple AP classes and keep perfect grades in all my classes, and with that anytime I’m nervous about a test or a grade I’m immediately shut down and silenced or seen as searching for compliments. When I’m genuinely struggling and stressed about it It’s almost become a given like I mentioned I feel like I did badly on the AP exam and someone just said “shut up Cassidy you’re probably the only one who passed” but I’m still worried sick about the grade (it comes out in a week)

Absolutely beautiful. I really like the concept of this song, about a powerless god My favorite manga is called Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun and it’s storyline is similar to this I highly recommend it! It’s basically the same concept except its a ghost trying to grant a wish! It’s a humorous, adventurous, and dark/sad type of manga

I don't like life. Everything is so painful and I am lonely the most of the time, so I cry a lot. Depression is my daily life, and it's so hard to keep waking up every morning to work. But in this darkness, Juby me helps to smile and forget about my troubles by posting a lot of enjoyabe songs. When I listen to her voice, I can say to myself that I am not that lonely. Juby always has such a nice voice and this was such a good song. Reading the description gives a nice insight in things. I share a similar situation with emotional traumas and pains and use creative outlets to express myself too. It's not fool proof and it really doesn't fix everything but it's nice. Went back to this song because I've kinda been feeling this way. I'm by no means a god of course, but just... I'm seen as this smart, kind, pure, stereotypical asian girl by many. But I'm not smart, I'm cold as I am kind, and lol no way am I completely "pure" either. It's just after trying to satisfy how others see me, it gets hard when I don't fully fit into the mold they created. I'm no "queen" as my friend likes to nickname me, and I've failed to reach expectations despite opportunities given to me. I'm just lonely I guess... because who are people talking to? Who do they see? Do they see this young lady who is seemingly so intelligent and sweet? Do they even see the me who desperately craves for praises and compliments, to be comforted, wanting to joke around and just relax? Bc surely the me they see wouldn't ask for something as selfish as praises. I don't want to boast after all... I'm no "god," I'm really just a normal girl who wants to love and be loved like everyone else. I wish I could escape the chains that tie me down.
