In general the Ripper run was massively underrated. People pretty much put it down just because Halford isn't singing. This is every bit as good as when Halford was around, the only difference is it's Ripper and not Halford, and Ripper is a godly singer in his own right.

***** I have all the Judas Priest CD's from Rocka Rolla up to Demolition and all the remastered Albums (Sin after Sin to PainKiller) all sound fantastic and clear. Jugulator doesn't quite sound so crisp and clear, compare, lets say PainKiller to Jugulator in sound clarity and the latter isn't quite there.

This album in my honest opinion, is on par with a lot of their Halford stuff.They cant show they have a good album thats lacking their metal god. Thats why they still show Demolition. Type in Dreamer/Deceiver at the Old Kettle Whistle here on KZbin and you are going to be fucking mesmerized.....one of the best things I have seen in MY LIFE...and I have seen alot... Now, with all of that said.....Ripper is great! Really fucking awesome. Someone noted here that this album was in line with Painkiller...I absolutely agree. I did not realize that The Ripper is that good singer. He ain't exactly Halford but a great singer anyway. Halford's group Fight and his self-titled band is good too. Very heavy but melodic and awesome musicians.

The rumors were always there though. My cousin & one of my friends made light of it. I didnt care that much about it. Rob was the one isolating himself from the others, except probaly Travis. He was living in Arizona, and while getting tattooed, met one of those guys, then the Fight project. Rob had been yapping about doing another project, and that would piss many off. Like Hetfield getting Livid with Newsted about the same sort of thing...

That is complete nonsense as to why Rob left the band. Rob left on his own accord for his own reasons, and to start doing his own music. Priest did not fire him. Rob faxed them that he was officially leaving the band in 1992.

The Best Album Judas Priest ever wrote. The most powerful of their albums from start to finish. Ripper Owens massive range and power stands foth with respect in each song. Yes Halford was first. But Halford could not belt these songs out like this. His scream is good and so is his power but it is 2 steps weaker than owens. It's a shame they got rid of Owens For Halford back just to sell albums.

It's funny in wikipedia it says... In 1999, the song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance but lost to Metallica with their song "Better than You"

very nice man so laid back he loved pantera so im not surprised about Fight Ripper could have done more with two albums if priest once again let him and im sure most fans would have been ok with those but they just seemed to be going through the motions just biding time till rob returned not even rob could have saved those albums very bland and uninspired rock on my friend
