Rob`s tune about a crazy night at gay bars on Fire Island NY. I owned a cool record shop in the gay village in Vancouver for 25 yrs. He came in once looking for CDs. Super nice gentleman. I remember the day, Baldhead, extreme tats on his skull and a leather full-length coat. I knew who he was. We never bothered celebrities. Rock a Rolla was an album I bought back in the day when I was a kid. Terrible production but fun nonetheless. I liked some of their other records too. Great live. He bought some Lamb and Morcheeba CDs We had many big names in the music industry dig for records. He was by far the mellowest , humble guy to ever come into the shop. Mello Metal God!

I always loved this song for The Riffs™, but realizing as an adult that Halford technically came out of the closet back in 1977 by releasing this AC/DC-esque sleazy fuck ballad about a CNC gangbang at Fire Island flatout elevated it to my favorite Priest track lmao

I was in a band at the time and remember hearing the "Fire Island" reference. Being they were British, I thought it might mean something else? Once he came out, I had an entirely different understanding. Crazy, but if you'd called him gay in their hay day, there'd have been a fight! Regardless, there's only one Rob Halford and it just ain't Priest without him!

Rock N Roll Hall of SHAME snubbed Judas Priest but Iron Maiden is up ? W.T.F? I like Maiden too, but they followed Judas Priest's footprint. They better not get in before Judas Priest! But they most likely will. Because it's a hall of SHAME. Know what the Country Music Hall Of Fame doesn't have in it? Music that isn't Country! F.U.B.A.R! 🍻

@Robo Cop Wrong, Deep Purple said the same basic thing. Said they wouldn't even go, but they were there! Every band cares when they get in. You missed the whole point it used to be ONLY Rock N Roll. I quit visiting when that changed. SMMFH!

@@nonrevnosnibormetalbeerrev6251 It isn't fans who decides like it was after a band was eligible after 25 years. It's a board of mostly asshats who know nothing about the band's and we fans who made them what they are. Without us and our money ? No band would exist. Judas Priest and DIO have ALWAYS acknowledged we, the fans made them who they are. $20,000 a ticket to go to the award ceremony. Steve Miller wasn't going to go because they gave him two tickets and wanted him to play, but expected his crew and band to pay.
