(Lyrics) One life, I'm gonna live it up I'm takin' flight, I said, I'll never get enough Stand tall, I'm young and kinda proud I'm on the top as long as the music's loud If you think I'll sit around as the world goes by You're thinkin' like a fool 'cause it's a case of do or die Out there is a fortune waitin' to be had You think I'll let it go you're mad You've got another thing comin' That's right, here's where the talkin' ends Well, listen this night there'll be some action spent Drive hard, I'm callin' all the shots I got an ace card comin' down on the rocks If you think I'll sit around while you chip away my brain Listen, I ain't foolin' and you'd better think again Out there is a fortune waitin' to be had You think I'll let it go you're mad You got another thing comin' (bridge) In this world we're livin' in, we have our share of sorrow Answer now is don't give in aim for a new tomorrow Oh, so hot no time to take a rest, yeah Act tough, ain't room for second best Real strong, got me some security Hey, I'm a big smash, I'm goin' for infinity, yeah If you think, I'll sit around as the world goes by You're thinkin' like a fool 'cause it's a case of do or die Out there is a fortune waitin' to be had You think I'll let it go you're mad You've got another thing comin'

Was 17 fighting cancer and would make jokes for everything I did that was a pain in the ass to breaking the law. "Washing the dish washing the dish.... Mowing the lawn mowing the lawn" gave me power. Never did chemo or radiation. Just had it cut out of my throat. Ruined my singing voice but still played in bands as a guitarist and sometimes bassist into my late 20's. Never doubt your firepower! I'm 35 now, if that means anything. Positive mood is everything.

It was because of this song that I became a Judas Priest fan. The first time I heard it was in GTA Vice City and since there was no Internet at the time, I promised myself that when one day I got to know the band (at the time I didn't know their name) I would become a fan. In the last few months I have been listening to the entire discography and I only have Firepower left to listen to. So far Screaming For Vengeance was the album I liked the most, the others are also very good. Who would have thought that thanks to a game this would happen to me.

I've always been a Judas Priest fan. This song released in 1982 had a meaning for me. I could achieve anything. Today, 2022 it has the same meaning 40 years later. America, don't let anything, ANYTHING, get in your way. Afterall, it's up to YOU. Always was and always will be!

As a bassist, I can tell you that this is one of the easiest songs I've ever learned... And yet this bassline is beyond incredible, it drives the entire song like nothing else could, especially the chorus part!

I was playing this album LOUD in May of 1982 two months before it came out in July.😎 I acquire a copy from a kid who got a copy from the RCA/Columbia HQ. in LA , after a great fireworks accident . Long story , but typical for where I was, in May of 1982 😎

Rolled with the Marine Infantry as a Navy Hospital Corpsman at Camp Pendleton and rotated with them to Japan and back. Never saw a hint of combat, but the training was intense! Attack helicopters zooming low, artillery echoing, amphibious carriers storming the beaches, tanks crushing the dirt… motivation enough for a lifetime! Live your life to the fullest, do it for the ones next to you. 3/5… GET SOME!
