I am 55 years old and I have been listening to Judas Priest since 1978. At the start of Covid, I got laid off and did nothing but martial arts, work out in my garage and listen to Judas Priest for six months. I advanced two belts in TKD and closing in on Black. I have shed over 60 lbs., and even now that I am work from home, I still manage to grind 2 hour workouts once I get my Judas Priest fix. Nothing gets me more fired up!

Saw Priest in 84 on the DOF tour I was 13 and my Mom said I could only go if her and my Dad went We had tickets within 20 ft of the stage She once had a chance to see the Beatles in KC in 1964 or 1965 I can’t remember..her friend had an extra ticket but my grandfather wouldn’t let her go and she never got to see them She didn’t want me to have the same disappointment Still can remember KK on upper stage during this solo and Rob pointing at me and smiling as I was singing every word Thanks Mom you’re the best

That's a great story. My parents were more like "He gets good grades, has a job, and doesn't do drugs, so let him go to concerts". And that was fine by me. Funny story, my dad saw Ronnie James Dio being interviewed on ESPN (Ronnie was a sports fan, as was my dad, and ESPN was interviewing celebrity sports fans). I remember my dad being like "Wow! That guy has some voice!" My mom would often pull me aside and say "Here's 20 dollars. Have a good time and get yourself a t-shirt at the show!"

When you were meeting a friend of mine, we’re in San Francisco, and we took acid. Of course we got it off the heat.… We went and saw the scorpions in I think with candlestick Park.… And we got to sing with the lead singer and guitarist of the scorpions, the milk down to me and my friend amongst all the thousands of people that were there, because I think we were completely out of control and higher than anybody else there as long as I was concerned, I doubt that’s true.… But yeah, I got to sing with the scorpions in their guitarist. We were singing big city nights. They got right down there with us me and my friend it was amazing. I’ll never forget it it

@Louis Reyna : I didn't forget. But on that tour Priest were still climbing, gaining fans. Hence not technically their "Peak". If you wanna narrow it down, I could say 1984 was Priest's peak. With Defenders. From their it was a slow decline starting with Turbo. And then Rob left in 92. Ending Priest as us 80,s people knew them to be. But then Priest re-invents themselves. But it would never be the same as the years leading up to and including 1984 Defenders tour. My opinion as a life long fan since 1977. Thankyou.

Was lucky enough to actually see this tour in 1982. Feel bad for kids now having to watch 35 year old concerts to get real metal. But it may be that Priest and Halford were 1 in a 100 year talent. I am starting to think so. Have not seen anyone in my life exceed or even match them yet.

Heavy Metal Rules Seen Priest in 2009. Still the best band I've been to see. The sound was so clear and Rob was on top form. I wasn't expecting much from them, they were touring with Testament and Megadeth, and I was there for latter mainly. Priest kicked their ass. The crowd was so excited by them. Hope they come back here on the Firepower tour.

I feel badly for them too. This is the sweet spot period. If they have to go back 35 years then so be it. The fact is, Priest today is nowhere near this performance. I was 22 when this tour was out. Look at KK's playing. He is a Metal God.

EJ W Yeah, this is hard to top. I love Maiden, Sabbath, AC/DC, the greats, and I wouldn’t want to do without any of them, but you can’t hear this and not consider Priest as good as anybody anywhere.

KK's solo on this (and other versions) makes me think the gates of hell have opened, just before 'war raises its head' in the lyrics. Perfect. Just like his Victim of Changes solo comes after Rob talks of having had enough and getting out, the solo blends melody and chaos, like something beautiful (the relationship or the woman) finally breaking down. Cracking stuff.

I saw Priest for the 1st time Nov. 1, 1979 at the Triangle Theatre in Rochester, NY. I was with 2 of my buddies and we each took 2 hits of acid before the show. The venue allowed the audience to get right up to the stage so we wrestled our way up and stood right in front of K.K. Downing the whole show. During some of his solo's, K.K. came over to us and would kneel down and let us touch his guitar and whammy bar while he was playing the solo. Totally blew our minds! After the show as we were walking out my one buddy ran his hands through his hair(it was 1979 we all had long hair back then) and low and behold he found one of K.K.'s picks. Needless to say, it was a special night in our young lives. I've been hooked on the band ever since.

Sad wings of destiny was the first priest experience I had ages ago. Saw that lp in my local music store and bought it just because of the cover art. Bought it and played it all that weekend blown away that there were another band as righteous as Sabbath around. Bought sin after sin the week of release and sinner remains a top five priest track to me today. Thanks JP for all the great years of metal...
