I was an extra in the movie when they filmed in San Francisco. My army unit was asked to be apart of the movie. I got to meet and talk with Jude between shooting our scenes. Very nice guy!

I also enjoyed gattaca. Sad it's about eugenics, population social experimentation and the sub pressing of weaker DNA. Lol, nooo Jude! Contagion should have been mandatory media from the beginning of the pandemic. It's one of the most realistic of the many viral/bacterial contagion movies out there. And a hell of a lot more educational than 1/2 the US News channels. No, it's not weird that many people watched it during lock down. It's weird that more people didn't. Contagion made me want to binge watch realistic virus dramas all day, but searching within the same genre is either cheesy or filled with zombie films. There aren’t any lists that have it alongside “Dallas buyers club” or “Miss Evers Boys”. Andromeda strain almost gets you there - but it’s dated.

Whaaat?! It was the most relevant movie to watch. Between that and knowing someone who was on a ventilator with COVID-19, I was able to reconcile the public health orders and the consequences of breaching them. It did show a worse case (more virulent) but also simplistic version (effective antibodies and vaccine) of what's currently circulating. And it was on Netflix here. And still is.
