Words escape me to describe how repulsed how I am by the Dept!! How arrogant and despicable of them to try to remove those kids from the only loving and stable home they have ever known. Thank goodness for the kids GAL and this judge calling out such ridiculousness.

Prentiss Moore is one of the better caseworkers when it comes to testifying in court. He has the answers to the questions asked without giving a lot of dumb looks. What a shame Georgia doesn't have Stacy Zavala as GAL. She's never afraid to ask questions of anyone!

I hate that the dad doesn't want the kids to travel out of the country. The twins may never have an opportunity like this to travel. The foster mom looks so disappointed with the court not making a decision. That is so sad. I really hope that the foster parents can adopt if they choose. The judge really wears me out. Get to the point of what is required to be said/ordered and shut-up. 😢😊

I understand father not authorizing a passport for a foster family to take kids out of country. It’s not unreasonable. The twins are 2 years old.

I agree, there is no way I'd allow pretty much strangers to take my 2 yr old twins any where out of the country for any reason. There are to many cases of parents/faster parents doing heinous things to children let alone taking them out of the country where no one is able to check on them until the get back.

You see to many cases where everything appears okay on the surface with foster parents and suddenly the child is dead. So no they wouldn't be going anywhere where they can't be checked on for a prolonged amount of time!

I grew up in a time where it was ok to discipline children as you saw fit. I had my pants pulled down and spanked, I was spanked with a paddle and a hair brush. When I had children, I chose not to spank. I can count on one hand how many times my kids were spanked (on the butt with clothes on!) and not wailed on or beat. I have a much closer relationship with my children than I had with my parents. My children now have children and they don't spank either. My children are individuals, know their voice is heard, are loved unconditionally but know right from wrong. They are successful, hard working adults. I find that today people are too quick to pass judgement. Especially people that don't have kids. CPS was wrong in this case. I am so glad the Judge saw this! People need to learn it is ok for children to have boundaries and learn that no means no. It is ok to teach them crying and tantrums don't get them what they want. One of my children stole a candy bar once. I marched them back into the store and had the manager call the police to give my child a lecture. None of my children stole again. No spanking and they learned a life lesson. Dad is trying hard. They should be giving guidance not taking kids away! After all these years I sure hope the courts don't let the maternal grandparents adopt these children. They seem to be in very good hands!

I'm Gen X, so corporal punishment was an accepted parenting practice in the 70s and 80s. My brother and I rarely got spanked; our spankings were so rare, I can still remember each one I got! Corporal punishment did teach me how to lie and manipulate to avoid physical punishment. This meant we ended up in more trouble for the lie to cover up whatever we did to begin with! My parents set clear expectations for us. My parents weren't perfect; however, I give my mom credit for not spanking us when she was angry. Of course, her answer when she was angry was the old, "Wait until your father gets home." That was not a fearful statement to us. My father was ab*sed as a child, and he remembered what it was like to not only get spanked, but beat. We welcomed a "spanking" from my dad, because it meant there wouldn't be a spanking. There would be a conversation. And we'd lose priviledges. As the first born, the WORST thing my parents could say to me was, "I'm disappointed in you, I expected better from you." That wold crush me! Now as an elderly adult, I "see" the manipulation in those words. I understand now how I learned to be "sneaky." I still did stupid sh*t, most of it with my brother. A former coworker of mine is a millenial mom. She wasn't raised with her parents spanking her. She has three boys, and thinks nothing of "whooping" some a$$ when her boys act up. She ended up at a school meeting, because two of her boys were beating the crap out of other kids at school. She couldn't make the connection- if your discipline is spanking your child, the child quickly learns physically hurting some one is an excellent way to get them to do or not do something you want.

Nah. My parents mostly talked to us when we were bad. But if we REALLY acted up, they spanked us. Nothing crazy like a belt, just a few smacks on the butt. We shaped up and neither of us are abusive and neither of us hit our kids. That's a wives tale. Probably happens sometimes, but plenty of abusive people were never spanked, it's just luck of the draw. My parents were right to do it and it worked well.

@@DevilOnlyKnitsLace This was a very insightful and well written comment! I appreciate you sharing your perspective. I wasn’t spanked as a child, but it was very important to me to be as well behaved as I could be. I noticed my friends that were spanked often would make choices based on whether or not they would get caught, not based on whether the choice right or wrong. Love your username, by the way!

Yeah my parents sparked me too, well mainly my mom. Not often to be fair, but the end result was that it made me very anxious as a kid because it genuinely felt like it was out of the blue. A lot of what frustrated my mom about me turned out to be related to ADHD and I just didn't have any control over, stuff like forgetting my chores or homework or not listening to her when I should. Spanking didn't help me focus or remember. I didn't get diagnosed until I was in my 40s. What spanking did was teach me it was ok to hit family members, I bullied my little sister as a kid. I regret that now, as does my mom.
@lostineggsaisle
@lostineggsaisle Ай бұрын
@@platedlizard And that's the problem. It wasn't related to discipline for things you did it was as you say out of the blue. When spanking is related specifically to a serious infraction it does its job. Too many parents use it too often for things that shouldn't be used for though and it can raise anxiety in children because they don't know when to expect it because it's not being used as actual discipline. There's a fine line between corporal punishment and abuse.

1:19:00 i dont think the worker mr Moore approved of the removal either! you could tell by his answers he was as vague as possible while having to go ahead with the depts decision. Dad needs closey supervised visits and parenting classes! I personally at this stage of the video that its in the kids best intrests Mr Moore is usually more vocal and upbeat ... i dont think he's happy but has to go along. I dont agree with spanking, especially so from a father who seems to have been out of their lives while trying to building a bond ...🙄😡 Dad do better!! Grandma please protect these traumatised kids!!!!

Our country is now dealing with a generation of no spankings and no real discipline under the guise that it causes trauma and makes kids aggressive. How’s that working? Youth have never, in the history of this country, been so out of control, disrespectful, illiterate and entitled. I’m not saying spanking is always ok, it’s not, but there is nothing wrong with a swat on the butt. It’s the whole philosophy of no discipline and the break up of the nuclear family that has resulted in this mess.
@OnTropolis
@OnTropolis Ай бұрын
Spanking has nothing to do with it. Discipline is very different from punishment. It's a generation of entitlement and laziness that's more the issue

My folks never spanked me but my grandparents did. Mom would just tell me that I broke my promises and she can't love me anymore for the day. People think that's psychological abuse but I figured it out pretty quickly she was just bluffing

It's doing pretty well actually, violent crime is down a lot, pretty much the lowest it's ever been. Every generation complains about how the younger generation is more disrespectful than ever, the earliest complaint about that I know of comes from Ancient Greece. In my opinion that's because we view our childhood with rose colored glasses and think we and our friends behaved better as kids than we really did.
