I agree but with that kind of damage losing the car (he would have had the car) may not have been worth it. Its hard to get a car for that kind of money. Didn't appear to have any mechanical problems. When insurance pays for damages and you own the car for example, they give you the money and you can choose whether or not to get it fixed. Someone might say well its not worth getting fixed because its driving fine and I'd rather use the money else with it. Now she still has the car and could possibly sell it for another 500 or possibly more even with the big dent in it.

Akstylez _ak if she took that offer, she would have had to sign over her car to him. She rightfully refused because she would have to go back into debt to buy another car. Conceivably he could then sell the car or donate it and recoup some of his money. The judgment was fair under the law. She can make some repairs at least.

I had a 2 month old car with a crumpled hood from an accident & it was $1800 ( paid by other parties insurance ) He offered her $2100 for the car, she refused & ended up getting less. I’m sure she’s not getting the car fixed & is just going to keep the money.

On the first case: I was wondering if Judge Faith was looking for cockroaches on the defendant. 2nd case: Excuses, Excuses, Excuses from the defendant. The offer the defendant gave her was an insult to the plaintiff, especially the one where he said he'd get the car he ran into fixed. Granted, the judgment for the plaintiff wasn't as much, but at least it gave a message to the defendant. Stop insulting people with offers and trying to save face just to make yourself look better.
