I’m a stylist with 22 years experience. In my opinion...the plaintiff was told that she could not get a relaxer done two weeks after bleaching her hair, and at some point between then and the four weeks the defendant made her wait to get the relaxer done, the plaintiff used something on herself at home to relax her roots with less than ‘good’ results. When she finally waited long enough to have it done professionally, she had an adverse reaction to the relaxer the defendant applied at the salon. 10 minutes is not enough time for virgin hair to break off at the root as seen in the photo, and if you look closely- you can see that the previously bleached hair is still intact at the very front of her hairline, which would rule out the possibility that the stylist had carelessly applied the relaxer and caused it to overlap into the previously bleached hair. The plaintiff’s witness was trying to make the point that when things go this bad in the salon, there’s usually something the client has previously tried to do to her own hair at home, that she isn’t telling the stylist.

NAH.. AS STYLIST WE SHOULD REFUSE THE SERVICE.. ESP.. WHEN WE KNOW FOR A FACT IT'S A 99.9% CHANCE THAT IT'S GONNA BREAK OFF.. IF THE CLIENT WANT IT THAT BAD.. THEN THEY CAN GO GIVE SOME ONE ELSE THEIR MONEY AND LET THAT STYLIST DEAL WITH THE AFTER EFFECTS OF DAMAGING THE CLIENTS HAIR.. ALL MONEY AIN'T GOOD MONEY.. GRANT IT SOMETIMES.. WE CAN'T ALWAYS TELL WHAT ALL HAS BEEN DONE TO THE CLIENTS HAIR AND WHEN WE ASK THE CLIENTS LIE.. SO THERE IS A PLACE FOR WAIVERS.. BUT THERE'S ALSO REFUSAL.. AS A FIRST OPTION.. USUALLY LOOKING AT AND TOUCHING THE HAIR... WE CAN GAGE IF THE INTEGRITY OF THE HAIR HAS BEEN COMPROMISED..

Good question. I was trying to understand how that spelling of her name resulted in that pronunciation too!
@YT4Me576 жыл бұрын
Sorry, there are no such thing as "silent alphabets" in English that aren't supposed to be silent. The syllable "tu" demands to be spoken! Everywhere she goes in an English speaking country, her name will be mispronounced. We as a people have got to stop making up fairytales when it comes to names. "Tyresa" or "Tiresa" (or whatever) is different, but it's fine if it's spelled phonetically.

I understand where she's coming from. I don't wear wigs or weaves so I would be pissed if I was forced to because my hair fell out due to the neglect of a stylist. Most of the time you can tell someone is wearing a wig or weave and I personally just wouldn't want that. Nothing against the weave and wig divas. Y'all do your thing!

No, there are some good stylists out there who know what they're doing.

***** I don't think her bad choice was going to a hair stylist. I think her bad choice was requesting to get a relaxer so soon after getting her hair bleached. You don't need to be a professional to know not to put chemical on top of chemical like that. You would think that was common knowledge.
@kamikani086 жыл бұрын
touch up relaxer upon bleached hair in a short amount of time... you are putting yourself in a position of wearing a wig or a weave... too each its own... and if you gonna to do all that why not wear a wig or a weave...the plaintiff would still have her "good hair"...just saying...
@YT4Me576 жыл бұрын
I think that she's so obsessed with her hair at this point, she's in denial about what it can take. The hairstylist should have protected her own reputation and refused to do the perm. It's better to lose a client than lose her profession reputation and have to deal with the stress knowing that you ruined a client's hair.
@soniaclarkstewart6 жыл бұрын
I'm not the person who wears fake hair either other than the times when I wore a few back in high school and college decades ago. I can understand her being upset, but maybe it's time for her to find other talents, beauty, etc in her life. It was heartbreaking for many women to lose their hair through chemo or alopecia, but they realized that they needed to focus on more important things.

You don't have to be a professional to know about your hair. i didn't get a perm every 6 to 8 weeks like some people i got one every 5 or 6 months, i didn't need a perm that often so i asked her to pull out the pressin comb and hit them roots lol. so what i'm sayin is you don't have to be a professional to know your own hair it's a little common sense

I can’t imagine what she went through. As a female. Hair means so MUCH. this is devastating. I feel bad for the hairdresser. But I’d have more sympathy had she not asked for all that money in her counter claim. Then says the plaintiff is trying a “money grab” ... nope, that’s what YOU are trying. You were wrong. Pay the consequence and move on. It didn’t have to end up this way
@africarenee3 жыл бұрын
Even when the judge, and the expert advised not to wear weaves while her hair was healing, the plaintiff did not want to listen.

I understand the comments about her getting over herself and it's just hair but dang no one wants their hair to fall the freak out. however if she is telling the truth about her hair falling out before because of the coloring than putting yourself through that again is your business. and she's right people hair reacts differently to things.

People who hate on this young lady may not have any hair themselves and don't understand how she feels with her sudden hair loss. That beautician is struggling because otherwise she would have sense enough to not treat this lady's hair, knowing it was a no no at that time. As yes she had lovely and full hair. For the beautician to accuse her of being out for money, shows you the kind of person she is. Who would get their hair damaged and become bald for $3000? Come on.
