The computer owner should have let the water thrower to try and "fix" the computer, her own way. I have had wet laptops, and know what to do, and what not to do. The water thrower seemed to know a little more about what not to do. Water thrower is still at fault, but may have been able to save the laptop, and avoid court.

1st case: That’s what happens when you play too much, smh. I know it was a mistake but the defendant should know it’s not fair for her to ruin the girl’s MacBook and then replace it with something else. It’s good she did try to rectify it but it’s only fair to replace the thing that she broke, not replace it with whatever she can afford. It will just take some time to save up the $700. The defendant in the first case was lying. Apple laptops have moisture sensors which will permanently shut the computer down upon detecting moisture. (They can also be triggered in very humid environments, which is not good.) $750 (or thereabouts) is the going rate Apple will charge to fix the computer. (I think all they do is replace the sensors.) A much better deal can be had by taking the laptop to an Apple-authorized repair shop. Last but not least: the grammar used by these participants was appalling (e.g. "me and my roommates"; "after we had took it"). I would expect better from college students.
