@ca88246 жыл бұрын
Haha, in most parts of LA as well as the country, the bus system isnt designed well enough to be a viable transportation option.
@jackieeeap26 жыл бұрын
Jacob Reeze speaking for LA city and some of the rest of the county, the bus system is not 100% on time but it does run often. Most wait times are 15 minutes. LA has buses, express buses, trains, little commuter buses(DASH/LADOT, well even bikes (metro bikes)and ! We are doing well compared to other areas. We are a lot of people and the transportation that takes a bit longer is because they travel a long distance.
@ca88246 жыл бұрын
jackieeeap2 Really? Isn't LA notorious for requiring a car to reliably get around? Isnt it hard to move to LA without a car?
@jackieeeap26 жыл бұрын
Jacob Reeze a car is always great to have especially if you live far from your job which brings us to what you said. A lot of ppl commute far distances to go to work. But if you live not too far, you can do well with public transportation. I see a lot of people park their cars at the train station parking lots to help them beat the traffic to get to their jobs, driving a third or half the way and then riding the bus the rest of the way--save gas, money, and LA traffic stress !

1st Case: I understand wanting to keep to yourself but, perhaps she shouldn't have a roommate? It requires some form of socialization. Regarding not being compensated for wages and losing her job you should always have 6 months to 12 months emergency funds and you should always try to have a credit card to rent a vehicle. You just have to be prepared for emergencies. The average person doesn’t realize how close they are to being 1 to 2 paychecks from being homeless. It is so scary. People we got to save for a rainy day. When you go through things or prepare for emergencies you do better

Yep, always when a family member ends up in a hit and run, the owner swears someone "stole" the car. Yet they never make a stolen vehicle report ASAP, they can't explain how the thief has their car keys, they only have a first name and have no contact information but they will trust them with their car. And the only time they even think of potentially filing a false police report is then the car is left on scene and is towed and the owner doesn't want to get stuck with tow fees or they know they have no insurance and the relative driving doesn't have a license or was DUI. Infuriating

2nd case the lady who won, must not watch a lot of court shows, hardly ever does any one get money for missed work, especially when it's just a car accident, there are many other ways to get to work while waiting on a car to be repaired or getting a new one, City Buses, taxi cabs, Friends/family giving rides, borrowing a car from friends/family. carpooling with co-workers, not having transportation is not a reason to not be at work, not get paid for missing work. Now if she had been injured badly enough that she was unable to work due to the hit and run, then yes she could get paid for the time she was off work in that case.
@sspe34565 жыл бұрын

As if living with family members / siblings isn't bad enough, but a roommate? no way!

"He won't talk to me" You weren't keen on talking to him either.

The defendant is a pathological liar, sociopath, and she has nothing but excuses and is clearly a result of Entitled parenting.

8:10 didn’t she say earlier that she wanted a roommate, not someone to talk to but when he doesn’t talk to her she complains?

So....for those of you sympathizing with the first plaintiff, Trey Henley, please don't. This case was likely two toxic people being total crap to each other. Her crap was likely just too visibly messy for Trey's to be seen alongside hers. Some context, Artravious "Trey" Henley, is my ex-boyfriend. Our relationship ended in 2012 and the biggest mistake of my life. I DO believe her when she says he "got aggressive." Trey is a violent man. He abused me quite mercilessly throughout our relationship. Our former roommate in Birmingham bore witness to this. Trey is also a manipulative liar who, from the sounds of it, has at last found a better means of covering his tracks.(a skill he sincerely lacked back when he and I got together in 2010) He may have won this case, and I still cannot even believe this came up in my suggestions on this app, but he isn't sweet. He's likely not completely innocent in the SHTF aspect of this case's situation. I mean, he got us evicted from two places in Alabama before this by doing exactly the kind of stuff she did to him. (so that's some heIla poetic justice 🤣) He lies about every aspect of his life, and he is incredibly abusive. He's also very unstable.(a horrible truth I learned the very hard way) He doesn't deserve your sympathy. This situation deserves a good laugh for happening to both of them and sorrow for the fact that he got any reimbursement from it, because he deserved the punishment of it just as much as his roommate did.

When you own a vehicle and want or need rental car or towing you have to pay extra for it. Yes it is costly but it’s worth it. And if your car has any significant value you should always have full comprehensive collision and you should lower your deductible amount (so that when repairs are required for accidents you don’t have to scramble and come up with large amounts to get car accidents fixed. Owning a car just like paining a home is very expensive.

The second case, the defendants knew who drove the car, probably didn't have insurance. As for the plantiff, judge doesn't have to make the defendant pay for loss of wages or because your car was not driveable, not unless you were seriously injured. Next time get full car insurance coverage, in which if something happens to your car while it is being assessed for repairs, your insurance will pay for a rental car.

2nd case: I never really understand those people who blame the loss of their job on not having a vehicle. Unless you live in some crazy rural area, there are multiple ways usually to get to work. And as a rule, I try not to work someplace that it takes me more than 10 minutes to get to. I learned how to ride the city bus as a teenager and had no problem walking. When I had to commute to college, for Christmas, I asked my parents for a bicycle. And if she had vehicle insurance of her own, and the insurance company paid her for the value of the car, then she could have used that money to some extent to catch a cab. If she still owed on the car, the insurance company would have paid the car off most likely which means she would have had her car payments to use to, again, catch a cab. Just my opinion.

Public transportation isn’t really a thing everywhere. Luckily we have Uber and Lyft now, but back home we didn’t have bus routes. We finally got a city bus but it doesn’t run every day, and it has maybe 2 routes and only for low-income area. Public transportation is only a thing in metro areas.
