The term, “Alopecia”, is a general medical term to describe hair loss. Millions of men around the world have hair loss. Hell all of my brothers, cousins and oldest son have hair loss, therefore they have alopecia. My oldest sister lost her hair due to radiation and chemo, while battling lung cancer. I offered to buy her a wig , she was offended and stated that she didn’t give a damn about her hair, because she was fighting for her life.

Alopecia is not a death sentence. I fried and dyed my hair when I was younger and developed scaring. But using natural products on my hair has helped. But getting back to Jada, yes she needs to take accountability for her toxic behavior. I continue to pray for both Jada and Will that they will become whole people in the name of Jesus.

I have Alopecia…….The type is Alopecia Areata. I was born in 1953, neither our doctor or the beautician understood what was the cause of the condition. The condition affected the hair on my head; my eye lashes and finger nails. It wasn’t until I was around 16 years of age did I find out the problem. A lady with alopecia was on a talk show talking about the condition. I am 68 years of age now and I have dealt with this autoimmune condition from childhood. Alopecia Areata can cause sever pain to the area where there is hair. The body’s immune system attacks hair follicles. Jada may have Traction Alopecia.

#oneslap ...I watched the video of Jada addressing the Oscars slap, and I have to agree with Judge Joe Brown that this was damage control, or as I like to refer to it, a PR stunt. It's very calculated, and I think she came out with this particular Red Table Talk about the Oscars and Alopecia to tie the two together, and also because of the interview Will Smith did with David Letterman on his Netflix show "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction". On that show, Will said he took Ayahuasca and had a vision of himself losing all of his money and career. The recording of that interview was before the Oscars took place, but came out two months after the Oscars. What really makes this situations about the way Jada and here production team put this particular Red Table Talk together dark and scary, is the fact the guest they had appear on the show is the sister to a young pre-teen girl that had Alopecia, was bullied for losing all her hair and wearing wigs to school, then eventually checked out of life permanently. I feel that this play on events is so ❄️COLD HEARTED❄️!!! But, as we see, there's no shame in whatever she does and how she does it!💯

I saw the episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction as well. Yes it was filmed before the Oscars and came out after which makes it a bit strange in the context of some of the stuff he said. I had watched his movies and had just finished the series Bel-Air season 1 which he is an EP. I decided that I won't be watching it if it is renewed nor would I go out of my way to watch any of the movies he stars in. In terms of JPS, in my comment above the feeling that I had was that she was deceiving people on purpose. By mentioning the Oscars, but not addressing what happened is kind of a white-washing of the events. Also I have given Chris Rock the benefit of the doubt that he did not know like many other people before the Oscars. The two of them need to get their act together and apologize to Chris Rock. I hope at some point his side of the story is made public.

My understanding is that alopecia is autoimmune. I know a child who had 3 thumbnail size bald spots appear in the top of the head. Three bald spots that eventually would only grow a weird light colored fuzz instead of black hair. Lasted almost a year. Did not affect any eyebrow hair. I know an adult who lost all his hair, came out in clumps the way Jada described before she cut it all off. But the adult still shaved a little stubble on his face. His eyebrows thinned some, too. Hair never grew back. Many variations to alopecia and regrowth, if there is any regrowth at all. It can mess with your mind too. Especially when people around you do not understanding it, and they think that they do. It's not cut and dry. No pun intended.

The word alopecia itself is just a medical term for hair loss. It is an umbrella term that includes many different conditions. Alopecia areata is the most common autoimmune form of it. Androgenetic alopecia (male/female pattern baldness) and traction alopecia (caused by too much tension on the hair shaft) are also common forms though not autoimmune related.

That's the same exact thing I said about her situation. I believe that is two things going on. I believe she underwent a facelift that she had to correct because it damaged the hair follicles in my opinion she definitely looks completely different than she used to look. This is within the past few years.. her whole overall appearance has drastically changed. Also having alopecia isn't an unmanageable treatable condition.. although everyone presents differently from person to person.. she can't use this as a reason for the slap when the punchline wasn't poking fun at her condition... it was done in respectful and tasteful fashion. Because it was prefaced with love from Chris Rock when he said ,"Jada I love ya! G.I. Jane 2 can't wait to see it" thats all he said

Alopecia Areata is a true thing. It's an autoimmune disorder. I suffer from it as well as my daughter. Your body attacks the hair roots in localized areas (generally not wide spread over the scalp) and the hair falls out from the root. This typically is not permanant though it can be for certain people. The hair will typically grow back, but the hair loss can reoccur at anytime. Jada likely has chemical and tension damage to her scalp. Not wide spread alopecia as she describes for sympathy.
