This video stands out as one of those inspirational stories that leaves a lasting impression. The Black teenager’s courage and composure in exposing the truth not only silenced the judge but also highlighted the power of standing up for oneself. It’s a compelling reminder of the strength in challenging assumptions and embracing one’s worth.

Usually, pro se is not really a good course of action, as the prosecution can usually pick them to pieces. It's very hard to plead your own case.

That moral would be a bit more compelling in real-life reportage. In this fiction it's just cringe-worthy.

Huh, I'd a said it was an awful story. Trite and banal, utterly predictable. It would only be a good story if someone confused it for reportage. I assume you're not confused about that?
@TheHellbillyx8 сағат бұрын
ok story but how did a reporter find out about her and get to the courthouse to talk to her before she left. that kinda kills the story.

The author of this fiction didn't think it was important to image a specific crime. And, truthfully, he/she was probably right: the target audience here will believe it anyway, no matter how incomplete or absurd.

Delightful story... Is this intended to be perceived as true or as entertaining fiction? I am having a hard time finding a record of the existence of a Harper Freeman in the California attorney database. I am not in any way an expert in legal procedure so I might be way off the mark here but isn't it unusual for a judge to allow attorneys to directly interact with each other vs interacting with the bench? The prosecution interjections and interruptions without a claim of legal objection seem to be outside typical courtroom decorum and procedure. Perhaps this is a true story and perhaps this is not a trial but a probable cause hearing which might explain why things seem off? Again, this is a delightful underdog story, but there is enough going on here that seems off to make me question if it is intended to be seen as true.
@trondheim67 күн бұрын
I think this story is *intended* to be seen as true--making the insulting assumption that its audience can't easily distinguish journalism from fiction. Come'on people, this is embarrassingly bad fiction! Even many MAGA folks can see that. Or maybe not...

Who is the man behind the voice
@trondheim6Күн бұрын
It's a text-to-speech machine. The producer of this stuff didn't take time to record anyone reading the script--they just grab a photo, write a silly story around it, then have the machine do the voice. They can probably produce 3 or 4 of these in a day with tech available for the last 10 years or so.
