I know Paul Skenes has been phenomenal for the pirates 🏴☠️, but! I would take Merril over Skenes without a doubt. You just can’t ignore the facts that, Merril plays a premium position everyday and he is playing a great defense and offensive along with it. For me he deserves more over anybody

I honestly believe as of this point if you asked who you would rather on your team this year for what they have done it would be Merrill

Skenes has been great but Merrill has had game tying homers in the 9th twice on just this one road trip alone. Kid really has that clutch gene. If the Padres pull off taking the division from the Dodgers, those home runs could be the difference maker.

Here’s what I will say: I think Merrill deserves rookie of the year more than Skenes. Yes what Skenes is doing is exciting but you only see him every four or five days. Merrill is out there pretty much every night.

I think Merril has closed the gap with skenes again. Merril was the run away in the first half. Skenes has lived up to the hype. But Merril has clutched up so hard for the padres. if they win the division, he'll be a huge reason for it.

Hos, as a huge Padres fan this has got to be said. The way things ended with you and us was unfortunate. You didn’t deserve it. At least you still got that guaranteed money but they did you wrong. We love you in SD. Also, what needs to be said that nobody acknowledges is that you started it all for SD. Before you, no one signed with us. We were very irrelevant. You chose us. I get why but still. After you we got Machado and so many others. You were part of the first playoff run where we finally won a playoff series in forever. You were one of the four who hit the consecutive grand slams and so much more. Thanks for all you did. Lastly, can you explain to me why every season you started hot the first few weeks and they they sat you a few games in a row. Every time. Why cool off a hot hitter? That had to bother you as much as it bugged me.

Rookie of the Year award became a joke when some dude that threw 27 Innings won it a couple years ago over cronenworth, unfortunately most MLB awards now don't hold much credibility with the fans that know baseball. Merrill hands down the winner. The guys playing a position he's never played before.😮 although I understand PS wouldn't really have a problem with that either
@TheLastPrime385 ай бұрын
@@AirCoryell79 I think that's a little unfair to current mlb. Awards have always had controversial years. Dennis E winning cy young is the main example.
@tacobellcall9115 ай бұрын
Why is the rookie of the year shared for pitchers and hitters? The CY young is essentially the MVP of pitching. Yes there have been some pitchers that win MVP, thats for crazy years.

Witt’s problem is that there is only about a .790- plus OPS.. on his road ledger, much less than his home OPS. Facing more action vs. AL EAST teams, JUDGE has hit 18 homers at home, and 23 on the road. His OPS is fairly close to being the same on his home and road splits. Throw in the fact that there is no RBI partner on NYY like PASQUANTINO on WITT’s ROYALS. Judge has on the RBI FRONT, has literally been carrying the YANKEES. I despise the YANKS and bleed ROYAL and POWDER BLUES with metallic gold, but the facts are the facts. FOREVER ROYAL..

Left/center at Yankee stadium is 399 BIGGEST in baseball. Witt would have so many fly outs to the track. Don’t get me wrong. I love it Witt, but he’s not getting intentionally walked with two outs.
