Criminals are not actually more likely to have bad credit scores. There is nothing to say that a drug dealer sucks at paying his bills on time. There is no reason to believe someone with a dui driving doesn't have credit. Not all people in prison are the criminals you seem to be thinking of. But those people are also not trusted by society and would have a really hard time convincing people they were being taken advantage of (as your own opinion proves) it's actually a FABULOUS target. No one will believe them or care if they complain! Just as you all have proved on this very thread! They stole from everyone in the house when I was 15 , and they were a year younger, 14, 13. It becomes a way of life, men , getting beat up, had a baby who was sadly drug affected and had learning n breathing problems. As they aged into 40s their manipulations started to put them in jail and halfway houses. One died in early 2000 drug OD @ 42 and the other drugs broke her mind. She’s in a hotel type situation with other SSI, addicts ordered there, since 2017. She always kept calling and I tried hard to be a friend from a safe distance, it’s hard the love is so broken but you can’t let go fully. But, when she starting speaking in garble , she doesn’t call and I wasn’t able to identify where she was living. She wouldn’t ever say, she had tried to kill our Dad in 2015 , he was 83 yrs old , and she went to jail. That trauma broke her and him too mentally. I think so many of us come from families with similar stories. I was laughing so hard at all the comments because everyone has it spot on, they know too. But then I think back and how I’ve had too hold myself up in life alone, always. You often lose your family when you can’t stomach the drama any longer.

idk about Kansas, but here in the tortured state of Cali, we get a nice new license mailed to us every 5 years … I think if someone was using her license, the DMV would’ve notified 🤷🏼♀️ and ✨Wolfy, dear ~ you owe me a steak ! … we both said “that’s not how credit works” at the same time … I called it 😉

I've been wracking my brain to pinpoint who the judge reminds me of and I finally got it. In my mind she reminds me of the late classic singer Kate Smith (heralded for her rendition of "God Bless America" back in the day) in her later years. Judge Webster does seem to have a touch more wry sass though, lol.

My father was a victim of identity theft. They bought a home in Idaho but stayed current on their mortgage.
@robjohnson11382 ай бұрын
Does that mean he can wait until the house is paid off, then claim the house is his, cuz it’s in his name? That would be awesome. (Although identity theft still sucks.)
@lesliemingo36882 ай бұрын
@robjohnson1138 I'm not sure what exactly happened but I do know the person was prosecuted and my dad's credit remained nearly perfect.
@Blasted2Oblivion2 ай бұрын
Sounds like they stole the identity of someone that could get the house they wanted because, while the could afford it, they had other issues (probably bad credit) that blocked the loan. The fact that they kept up with the payments is interesting. Still illegal but not the life wrecking that most identity theft does.

dealing with different types of cases , the most you can get sentenced to in Judge Webster's court is 1 year in the county jail and I suspect that Kanas like other states has policies aimed at reducing incarceration for lower-level offenders, favouring alternatives like probation, community corrections, and diversion programs. I think that's why Judge Webster comes across as so soft
@stevestruthers61802 ай бұрын
If I had been in Judge Savage's position, I wouldn't have allowed the defendant the option of turning herself in. She has a history of non-compliance and is not only flaunting it, but also thumbing her nose at the court with her bullshit story about having her car stolen, etc. I'd be immediately enforcing the bench warrant and sentencing her to 90 days in jail, minimum, for contempt of court. Since the defendant likely didn't update the authorities with her current address - that is, her stepfather's address, Judge Savage asked some good questions about her stepfather's place of employment, etc. As a result, the cops could attend the stepfather's workplace and find out where the step-daughter is living and then arrest her.

It is good to see Judge Webster put her foot down. I do like her a lot, but I often feel that she's way too soft and lenient. I appreciate that she cares about the community and wants these people to get it together, but sometimes what's best for the community is for these people to realize that you cannot just continuously break the law and get a slap on the wrist or a stern talking to. No one respects the law or court system when that happens.
