This is a very sad and complicated family situation. Healing can only begin if all parties are committed to doing what's right and best for all (but mainly for the children). Legally, the case was decided correctly, IMO. However, the family situation is more important. The plaintiff is putting all the blame on the defendant and NONE on her son. The defendant's mother is also putting all the blame on her daughter and not owning up to (what I think) her neglect and lack of nurturing and love for her daughter. The plaintiff's daughter seems to have the best attitude and motivation. I hope the plaintiff gets all the help she needs to get her life on track and get custody of her children.
