I hope you will check out the monogatari series' author's other works that got an anime adaptation such as the zaregoto series. zaregoto is a murder mystery that follows the unnamed main character and this girl whom he both loves and hates, and is also his one attachment to the world, keeping him alive. The main character is a self-proclaimed "defective product" who is completely indifferent to the world and so edgy that instead of making you hate him. you genuinely want to see him grow and mature. it's a pity that the anime adaptation of the novels stopped at the first volume because volume 2 is often regarded as the best volume in the series. you should really check this series out if you enjoyed monogatari.
