I remember getting a charizard in a $4 pack of pokemon cards. I went straight to the local jewelry & card shop. Sold it for $75. Me and my mom were dirt poor. Living in homeless shelters. At the time a womens shelter that almost didnt let us in cause i was a boy. But that gave us a really good day.

I've been there too bought the 04 draft class for 30 bucks from Safeway and sold it for 300 5 years later when me and my mom's were homeless and even tho 4 out of the first 5 draft cards (fuck darko 2nd pick) would bring in more then my total for all 48 cards me and my mom fixed our car so we could move it to a safer place a night to sleep. It’s almost being a bummer having one of these cards. Like if I did end up buying even like a $2000 card, that would be the new standard. It would be hard to get excited about pulling anything from a pack after that. I’m pretty happy ripping a pack and finding a cool /25 rookie worth $80 or a /50 auto. That’s just me though.

I told people this was goung ,But nobody would listen. They are doung the samething the did in the junk wax era. Now they just add subsets and a 12/25 afterwards amd everyone thinks they are rare and will hold value. The market has topped out and will not hit 2021 prices for many more years. Still people are buying products thatbare thousands of dollars. Now would be a good time to trade some football prospects for some of those Jordans.

Naw you don’t, you better watch out what you buy. There’s a lot of fakes out there. I wouldn’t buy anything over 20$ that’s not even graded. Even boxes of 80s and 90s cards has been repackaged or fake on Amazon and eBay. Who sells a complete set for like 10$ with shipping. Makes no sense. My old neighbor is going to a retirement home and I purchased his whole room full of cards for 400$. I gotta sort things out and he has dozens of boxes that’s haven’t been open and 40+ binders of hand collated sets. All his cards are placed in boxes and binders and I know it’s real. I have all of Mjs cards , ken Griffey cards, Sammy soda and more that none has been graded. When people are selling mj cards for 20 dollars it’s because they can’t sell it online. Sell it to some Gullible kid that will never have the money to grade it and find out it’s fake.
