Very cool to see competitors in other countries! And thank you for your explanation of why certain people win. People are very opinionated about their favorites, forgetting that there are people up there who dedicated a lot of their time, energy, and money into being on that stage. I placed at NYCC last weekend and it really sucks to come across people bashing something I spent more than a year of my life on!

Oh hun I am so sorry you are dealing with that. I had a bit of that also last year with Toph being the winner- it’s not fun. You deserve your award and try to ignore those horrible people who don’t know when to shut up.

I won’t lie- sometimes it is. But I know for a lot of judges, we want to go in with the most amount of knowledge and so we can be your cheerleader.

This sounds so terrifying, but one day it would be nice to give a competition like this a try. It really makes me want sew more often. I think about sewing different garments and/or cosplays all the time, but never actually follow through with it. It really should be one of my goals to make crafting a priority because I really do enjoy it when I'm making a cosplay. ☺

We do work books in the UK too, although I don't think they always ask us to send it early. Which is a shame. But it's a good way to learn how to document work, I treat it almost like a journal.

Odd comment, but your hair looks flawless during this video. So smooth and shiny. Also, thank you for posting videos like this. I am unable to attend cons because of health issues. (I don’t have a functioning immune system.) So I have to live vicariously through those of you who share your experiences online. I wish that Finnish cosplay competitions were similar to the rest of the world. Our judges do not make a seam fliping, come look cosplay close. They just sit far away from the competitor and ask questions. a new thing has become that anonymous people look for old competition photos, go through all social media and in this way get confirmation of how qualified the competitor in question is and whether they can be awarded.
