Problem, the games are only in japanese and english, except for Judgment which has subtitles in different languages. For example, France is the second country in the world after Japan itself for the consumption of Japanese cultural goods, including manga, animated series, video games. Imagine, in France we are 65 million people and we consume more Japanese cultural goods than the whole of the United States with nearly 400 million inhabitants. And yet, no game other than judgement is translated into our language. So it hurts the license, which is not recognized at its true value in the countries where it could be most successful, because of the publisher's stupid economic choices. You see, Judgment has reached the top 5 of sales in France and has been out of stock everywhere because it has been translated. So no, the series is not underestimated, the publisher does not do enough to make it known and by his own admission, they make Yakuza games for the Japanese public and have no expectations from outside countries. It's a bad choice, I'm convinced that with a translation into English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian and Arabic, the series would be one of the most famous Japanese video game franchises today. To talk about the game itself, I enjoy it, and it's thanks to the translation, otherwise my level in English wouldn't have been enough to understand everything.

I in some way like that they re-use the game world. Especially when the setting goes from the 80s to present, and seeing all the changes to the buildings with different shops & constructions etc. So many big open worlds these days like AC : Odessey give you all these locations to visit & yet you barely stick around for 5 minutes when you then head off to the next region. For those obsessed with resolution, I again point out, ESPN is broadcast in 720p - and there are NO American US broadcasts higher than 1080i. It's not about pixel counts, it's what you do with the pixels. I'd gladly take a lower resolution to have a better looking and more active world. I wish game makers would just focus on that, do a drop dead amazing lively world and run it at 720p - you know, the same resolution as nearly everything you currently watch on TV.
@VexAcer5 жыл бұрын
To be fair a TV broadcast isn't directly comparable to a game's output. But yeah some people are really obsessive with resolution. The main thing that matters is AA imo. Like I'd much rather take a 900p or even 720p game with good AA over 1080p once with none for example.
