as much as i loved it when it was at its peak, I look back now at Little Britain and I kinda think it sucks. Its the kind of jokes or humor or whatever you'd hear from drama kids towards the end of 6th form or first year university. Its 'witty' in a sort of 'aren't we funny!' kind of way, commentary so much as reference, surreal only so far as its silly to say for example "a disapointed horse" - its, cute, but its not exactly clever. I'm suprised at how nostalgic it is but also how it just doesn't hold up. Have I or the world changed that much? Perhaps, but I do think just on the page, its mostly not that good. Its fluff that should have been a mild success but it just exploded. There's talent to be sure, but I find myself wanting more to work with somehow. Like, Come Fly With Me was showing signs of something new or different or slightly more substantial somehow, but it never got enough series to really know that one way or the other, nor for it to find its feet. But then again, I think it existed right at the last cultural moments it ever could.

It's silly, idiotic humor that's very literal or isn't meant to go anywhere. However, that's what I tend to enjoy when I just want to turn my brain off and crack a smile. Nothing everything needs to be subtle, artsy, or philosophical. Little Britain is crude humor and has never pretended to be something else. That's what I love about it.

Didn't know college essays could be submitted on KZbin these days. (I was tempted to put university, but I felt even college was a bit of a push academically)

@@JamboP26 everytime, uh? every. time. *Person on internet:* makes mild criticism of something thats lilked - even by them - in a youtube comment section. *Everyone else on internet:* reeee!!! [insert petty little personal attacks and no substantive or good faith engagement] Like, honestly, why? Surely you can agree comment sections aren't for uncritical praise only, yes? So why does someone being mildly critical provoke this behaviour in people such as yourself? Do you think you're defending the thing you like or its creators in some way? Do you feel threatened when someone doesn't like something as much as you? Do you feel threatened when someone merely thinks about thinks and expresses it more than you? How curious.

@@satyasyasatyasya5746 you're laying it on a bit thick, I'd say. People will disagree with you, no matter how reasonable you are. Don't let it bother you.
