I've cried buckets since Judith's passing. I can't believe that this beautiful lady with a beautiful voice that was such a huge part of my life from the moment that I heard her sing 'Morningtown Ride' when I was 4, has gone. This was my favourite song Rest in peace Judith

She is one talented and beautiful class act! What a fortunate guy was her husband and how fortunate that the guys of the Seekers found her. Finally, how fortunate for the millions that have enjoyed her music over the decades. I count myself as one of them.

I was three years old in 1967 and have remembered this song ever since. As a small child, I thought it was not a human being singing but an angel. RIP Judith Durham. With love from Hungary. 🙏😢

Judith Durham belongs among the most multi talented performers for as long as I can remember. And my memory goes back to the early 1960's. Her voice of course, is what first captured me. She was the heart and soul of The Searchers. It was only later that I came to know her as an accomplished pianist on her own right. Loved her then and love her now.

Walk With Me (Lyrics) Walk with me through the long and lonely night. Walk with me, and my world is fill'd with light. Here I stand feeling lost and so alone. Take my hand, don't desert me now, Please don't hurt me now, If you walk with me, tho' I know the road is long, I'll get by with your love to make me strong. More by far than a guiding star above, I long for you, Walk with me, oh my love. Somewhere the sunbirds fly In a clear blue sky, Only you and I there together, Love me, now and for ever. Walk with me through the long and lonely night. I long for you, Walk with me, oh my love.

This is a beautiful song but I think I've heard the melody before. It reminds me of a classical composition but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

Maybe you remember a classic song of the 60s called Walk with Me by The Seekers 😁.
@G6JPG3 жыл бұрын
Tom Springfield often put his own spin on classical and/or folk tunes; at least one of his is based on (though not just a copy of) a Russian folk song, though I don't think it's this one.

It's _different_, not worse. I don't really like her jazz period, but that's just me, nothing wrong with her. I find this very pleasant - both this solo (and playing the piano!) version, and the version with the boys from decades earlier.
@socram70nz2 жыл бұрын
She started off as a Jazz singer and returned to jazz after the Seekers. Loved her music and her singing in both roles. Watched her live with the Seekers in the 1960's, then the 90's and when they played more recently at an Andre Rieu concert and loved every one.
