Judo Chop!!!
@loganconnor71223 жыл бұрын
The only reason for me to watch this was looking for the Judo Chop. This is an old kata, but the judo chop had become a legendary in the 60s and 70s...and of course Austin Powers...lol

Kata is so boring. I was losing interest in judo due to kata: the straw that broke the camel's back was that there was a misunderstanding with the grading timing (I was 'late') and wasn't allowed to grade the week after. I left ju jitsu due to the same reason: the only 'good' thing about ju jitsu was you learn which attack is better countered with a judo throw and which is better countered with an aikido lock. I enjoy MMA more

Your Sensei failed you. Your school failed you. They should have teached you the inherent principles and functionalities of each Kata (in particular the Randori-no-kata for Tachi- and Ne-Waza). These are so valuable lessons for each Judoka to improve his skills in Shiai (full fight) and even top players got even better by learning Kata. But I sense they showed you kind of a dance, bloodless patterns, focused on formalities to make it „look good“. Sad.

@@dirksuhling9927 I've never heard of randori-no- kata. For our association the katas were: For 5 Kyu: Katame-no-kata For 4 Kyu: Nage-no-kata For 3 Kyu: Kime-no-kata For 2 Kyu: Go-no-sen for boys, ju-no-sen for girls For 1 Kyu: Ju-no-sen for boys, go-no-sen for girls For 1 Dan: Goshin-ho kata

in judo you dont punch or kick
@TheClarity1017 жыл бұрын
There are strikes in kata and they are trained as part of theory in self defense, as are weapons. These arent part of the competition sport side however, so they often arent seen.

When you go through all the Kyu grades before becoming a black belt and are on brown, you have to learn a whole syllabus of self defence techniques. Everything up to brown belt is really just the syllabus for the sport and after that you can obviously expand on all that with grip variations, combinations etc but there's more striking and aikido type stuff to learn too. Insanely effective and sadly bastardised by BJJ and some other sports.

That template is seen everywhere with martial arts in question being flipped around. Use of emojis varies, but content is always the same.

Crynol there is no original version of jujutsu....jujutsu is just a generic umbrella term for 100s of unrelated native grappling system in japan.
