Some nice throws in this. When Abe goes for the O-Soto, he’s All-In and throws with maximum splat-factor. Maybe for the same reason they don’t allow Maruyama and Abe to compete in the same class, because they are dominant, and they don’t want single country Final matches, but as you said, I really don’t care which country they are from, the best should battle in the final. From the prior match highlights, especially the middle and heavy weight divisions, I stand by my ongoing belief: Don’t let a Georgian Judoka get an obi grip. When they get it, you’re going over…. Heheh… Cheers.

I wholeheartedly agreed with your opinion on changing the rules to force competitors to stand up after drop throws. To often the momentum and flow of the match is broken by a bad drop seoinage etc. With a failed footsweep or hipthrow the action continues.

I think the reason they are set on one person per country at the Olympics is that the IJF has been using the fact that Judo has more countries than any other sport participate at the games as its big selling point. If you went purely on ranking you'd probably half that with 3 Japanese guys, 3 russians, 3 georgians etc. In each catergory

Thank you for the video. Totally agree with you about the people who should compete. No one cares if #57 from xyz country is there, we want to see the best competing. Top 20 should all automatically go (maybe restrict it to two max per country...but in some field sports you can have 4 from one country). After the top group fill in the remaining spots - it's pretty simple and fairer for the top people.

I guess it is different with different event'sthan. Antalya is almost always not a lot of people, but Paris,Dushanbe, and Tblisi is usually fully seated.
