The Sasaki ne waza was the first time I have seen a real fight on the ground. Hard to watch a lot of ne waza coming from a bjj background because they seem to give up very quickly and get pinned

2.12 harai tsuri komi ashi?
@JudoHighlights20153 жыл бұрын
man I dunno. It looks identical to a hiza guruma except for the leg placement. harai tsuri komi ashi has more upwards lift. Like Muneta.
@lazintata3 жыл бұрын
It was a textbook harai-tsuri-komi-ashi. A textbook one. @Judo Highlights, take this note.
@JudoHighlights20153 жыл бұрын
@@lazintata doesn’t look like one in the textbook haha. Don’t think you’re allowed to rotate your opponent with Harai Tsuri Komi Ashi. But hiza Guruma is a rotating technique
@mfp55853 жыл бұрын
@@JudoHighlights2015 hiza guruma uke moves forward/sideways towards/around you. Harai tsuri komi ashi uke moves backward and tori towards uke forward. The directions are opposite to hiza guruma and in line with harai tsuri komi ashi, although I agree classically it has more lift, but otherwise a rare and nice example of this throw in competitjon.

One of the fundamental of judo is "Ukemi". You basically learn how to fall, so at an professional level, you'd be surprised by the body control of these Judoka.
@TheUnsungVil3 ай бұрын
Astonishingly few… Judo throws are extremely regulated in international competition - and all those are blackbelts with way over 10 years of constant practice… so one might truly say „they know their Judo well“ Minor injuries of joints and ligaments are unavoidable, but spine injuries or dislocation of extremities are extremely rare - and usually a result of flawed throws or pre-existing medical conditions.

Today's judo is shit, not enough ground fighting. You get Ippon for any takedown. Players are not versatile and poorly trained.
