If Judy was alive, I would have no doubt that she'd feel an affinity with Britney as a fellow innocent spirit who has had her own trials and tribulations in a terrifying celebrity climate. Britney has been careless and naive in her own way, but she is all too human, as Judy was and her fans are equally devoted to their queen.

My boyfriend who doesn't know much about old hollywood watched some Judy Garland movies with me and didn't say much about them. Then one night were watching one and he wasn't feeling the leading man and I said "well at least judy is in it" and he just exclaims "I love judy, I would go back in time and marry Judy". After just watching 3 or 4 of her films. Thats the kind of effect she still has on an audience

Love Britney AND Judy. In terms of talent, Britney is an extraordinary dancer and unique pop star, muse and pop culture icon & Judy was really a genius who has sadly been somewhat undervalued by Britney's generation.

When you think about it there is sort of an uncanny parallel between Judy and Britney. Child stars who went from innocence to public scandal at about the same age. Hope things turn out diferently for Britney and I'm sure they will.

If Judy Garland was still alive today. I have no doubt that she would be friends with Britney and feel sympathetic for her because both of them almost had similar life stories.
@jamondy16 жыл бұрын
I do however, believe there are more similarities between the two than just being female. Both started performing @ a very young age, both having stage mothers both becoming "America's Sweetheart" at 16/17 both having very public falls from grace, both suffering from a mental disorder - they even both had a first name self-titled albums in their career (1956's "Judy" & 2001's "Britney") that last bit was tongue-in-cheek, but still proves that similarities run deeper than just being the same sex.

This is great! You know Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and Britney Spears have some of the most tragic stories in Hollywood. I really hate Hollywood for destroying stars that have dreams to become successful but ended up putting more negative than positive things.

That's so funny that you say that, because I just watched the video again and was going to make another comment about how amazing that part of the video is. I mean, the timing and everything couldn't be more perfect. And in terms of Oz, I honestly figured that was the reason that you didn't include any clips from it. Totally understandable. Again, great job!

This was actually pretty cool to see put together and I believed it rang true to Judy's life. She did A LOT of work and took a lot of different things to keep going ultimately it didn't help her overall happiness. Her work will be remembered for a long time and her glow will continue to put a smile on the faces of generations. Best, Marvin 😀

I enjoyed how this was put together. Good job! It also made me realize how much of a beauty and talent Judy Garland was in her day. This song does go with her life and times. The image is one thing but the person is quite another. Best, Marvin 😀

Overall, I think this video is amazing; fantastic job! I only wish that there would have been at least one clip from the Wizard of Oz in there at some point. I kept thinking that the part where she's locked in the wicked witch's tower, crying to Aunt Em would have been perfect for one of the "But she cries, cries, cries..." parts. Great job, though!! :)

Hello! Thanks so much everyone for their wonderful comments! I just wanted to clear up this question...the reason that I chose not to put in any Oz material was simply because I wanted this montage to focus on Judy as a "Young Woman" not a girl - I tried to limit all my footage from 1942 - 1949 ("For Me And My Gal" - "In The Good Old Summertime") with the exception of "A Star Is Born" (1954) as that scene fitted perfectly (In My Opinion) to the dialogue within the Britney Spears song :)
@sheldoncooper11342 жыл бұрын
You did Judy Garland proud. I love this Montage, and watch it often . I've shown it to friends. It always makes me emotional because it is honest. Judy Garland was one of the greatest talents of all-time and everyone wanted to expose it. Unfortunately, she was treated more like a profit god, than a human being who needed special protection and care for that talent. I hope Judy Garlands children and grandchildren see this! This deserves national attention and viewing. Thank You!!
