JUDY GARLAND newly discovered 1940's recording I'LL BE SEEING YOU recorded at home by Judy herself

In the early 1940's Judy had a home recording device that allowed her to record her own discs and made several recordings that were discovered decades later by Michael Feinstein. Here is one of those discs, originally an a capella version of I'll Be Seeing You with added (in 2022) piano accompaniment by Mr. Feinstein.

I heard it the Michael Feinstein concert. He found it in a hidden room in Judy's early 1940's house. Incredible find because Judy recorded it for herself acapella. Magnificent performance.

And I'm sure the home recording equipment was not able to record in the fidelity as a commercial studio would. Shows how much talent she had. I remember reading when people made acoustic recordings, singing and playing instruments into a horn, that this process never flattered the band or singers. This was nice.

Oh my God, this is so beautiful, and to think of her recording it herself before she married David Rose, which would mean she’s only 18 or 19? She sounds older to me. I would LOVE to hear the a-cappella version. I’m not the musician you and most all of your commenters are, but the piano sounds too loud to me. It’s such a lovely song and the way she sings it is so touching. Any chance the a-cappella version is available for you to post? Thank you, Buzz, for making this a very special day.

Boy.. Michael Feinstein is just tromping all over this. (Hate him. Always have. That's beside the point, however.) Assuming the piano is in tune, the record needs to be pitch-adjusted so she's not slightly under .. it's not just a note or two... it's the record speed. She's wonderful here.. it's not an easy song to sing.. Thanks, Buzz Stephens for all of your efforts on our behalf.
